How on earth did the failing NYT get hold of that letter about beach week? Surely they can find out whether it's him by seeing if he went to Ireland. Wouldn't that be on his calendar?

It does matter. It matters greatly. The guy's life is ruined and you want to give the media even more ammo to ruin it even more, basically making him quit the job over a disgusting lie? If he was honest about his drinking in his younger days, that'd be it for him. It'd be basically admitting his guilt, regardless of whether he's done it and all his life's work would be in shatters, again, over a simple lie. It's not like did some crime, he just drank alcohol, like 99% of the people his age did. But given his situation I think anyone here knows how that'd be twisted around.


What is he accused of then? As far as I'm aware, she accuses him of "trying to rape her" that was only prevented because by some miracle as Mark Judge jumped on the bed and they somehow tumbled off the bed and she made her daring escape.

Kavanaugh will be confirmed for sure.

Collins and Murkowski will both be primaried if they vote No, and Flake is just grandstanding as usual.

Manchin will vote Yes as well as his state supports Kavanaugh by thirty points.

A conservative majority on the Supreme Court is guaranteed for the foreseeable future. :drool:

What a train wreck of post. Sounds like most of my countrymen though of I'm honest.
 
Poor snowflake Brett Kavanaugh has his life ruined by a simple accusation. He may never recover and his drinking will undoubtedly get worse.

Meanwhile, a young woman was sexually assaulted, went on to earn a PhD and make a life for herself.

Somehow, despite their fragility and lack of resilliance, men like Kavanaugh dominate the halls of power.

I will agree with them on one thing : this media circus is ridiculous but apparently it's necessary to at least try and ensure that people who don't belong on the SCOTUS don't make it there. Don't forget there is evidence the RNC knew about this stuff coming out and yet they still went full steam ahead. I think we all wish we could go back where the news wasn't so in our face all the time. But as the Washington Post's slogan says: democracy dies in darkness.

yeah a man doesn't have to be Jesus Christ II to make onto the supreme court and one is allowed to have a vice or two. This man is collecting vices like pokemon. A drinking problem he can't adequately cover up, a suspected gambling debt that was suddenly cleared probably by some GOP mega donor and a rape accusation + misogyny to go with it. Of all the hills to die on, the GOP is choosing to die on this one.
