GOP establishment will be wise not to pick Luther Strange as he's despised by Moore's supporters. Best way they can handle is by either

1) Trump contacting Moore and asking him to withdraw from the race "for the good of the party".

2) Trump contacting Bannon to get him to ask Moore to drop out.

I think there's a good chance Bannon and Moore will oblige if they can get assurances that they can pick who the write-in candidate should be.

The “if true” response wrongly suggests that there will be some final reckoning of facts to remove any doubt about what Moore did. But there won’t be. He will likely continue denying the allegations, and people will have to choose between The Post’s reams of evidence and Moore’s lack of it.

John McCain showed what an ethical response looked like, and he didn’t need long to issue it:

“The allegations against Roy Moore are deeply disturbing and disqualifying. He should immediately step aside and allow the people of Alabama to elect a candidate they can be proud of.”

Dems have a legit chance here if Moore stays in and a write in candidate like Strange emerges.

Alabama state rep Ed Henry was just on CNN and it was just insane with the despicable stuff he was saying to defend Moore.

The fact that Republicans are willing to go on TV to defend this guy cause of party affiliations shows how far American politics have sunk.
I think if he runs, he will get elected.

Indeed. hes a complete shitweasel even ignoring the latest situation. Nothing about him is worth defending, hes a judge who abused the law, a racist who likes to shoot guns off when on stage, he is utter scum and always has been.

I'm not so sure he will win though, I did think it would make no difference, but polling has shown a dramatic swing. Even in Alabama, a pedophile may be a step too far.

As long as we have folks like these and the media keep giving them air time, nothing will change:

Not to excuse his actions, if he is quilty he should stand down, but doesn't the timing of these accusations agaisnt Moore seem a little odd to anyone? He has been in public office in some form or another in Alabama for over 40 years and his views extreme even for a Christian conservative are well know. He has been a target for Liberals in Alabama for decades, why are we just hearing about this now, weeks before a Senate race?

Maximum exposure... people thought the same regarding ‘grab the pussy’

The ongoing Hollywood scandal and the limelight his Senate race receives makes it easier for the victim to come forward with less chance of being hushed?

Might it have to do with the change in enviroment regarding reporting of sexual abuse/ harassment?

This is really the defense tried by every official when something comes out bad about them during a campaign? Isn't all that matters whether it is true or not, not the timing?

From what I read, the journo(s) were down in Alabama covering the special election when they heard chat about Moore having dated some questionably young girls when in his 30s. They followed it up, eventually found the woman and got her story.

You could question why the GOP opposition researchers didn't get wind of it during the primary, but then they also didn't get the Access Hollywood story about Trump. Plus, sometimes journos might better at getting people to tell them this stuff.

Bit annoyed some Democrat politicians are starting to get involved to support Doug Jones. In recent months, the DNC have made a good decision to intentionally law low in the race, as they know their involvement would negatively affect Jones' chance.

This was the article from a few days ago. Its clear someone at the DNC hasn't passed the message onto senators Kamala Harris & Chris Murphy, as they're getting publicly involved to raise money for Jones.

Senate elections are expensive, and Moore is still raising more than him by the looks of it. Doubt a few tweets are going to sway people much.

The tweets will encourage outsiders to give money to the Jones campaign.

Same thing happened in the Georgia election when a large percentage of Ossoff's fundraising came from outside the state and the GOP benefited from that, as they then used it as an effective talking point to get their base to turn out because they weren't happy with what they considered as "outsiders interfering in their election".

I think Moore wins. Will be a classic embarrassed to tell a poller you are voting for a suspected rapist.
Yeah. Also:

"Well I was undecided for a while, but what really swung it was that poetry he read to the young girl, what a sweetheart."

Not Trump related, about a SEAL death that looks dodgy as hell.
