The formation plays a part in how we play, its also has a part to play in our style and quality of play.
Formations dont dictate the style of play. You can play counter attacking football with any formation, you can play high pressing football with any formation, you can play short passing football with any formation, you can play long ball with any formation.

He looks like he couldn't give a feck, which is worrying.
In what way does he look like he doesn't care? Always think it's so stupid when people say a player doesn't look like he cares on the pitch. Di Maria runs as much as anyone, tracks back a lot, looks as delighted as anyone when we score and always claps the fans and all that. People need to realize that being off form has nothing to do with not caring.

Imagine going from winning the CL with Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema, then taking your national side to a World Cup final alongside Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero, and being a crucial player in both feats - and then turning up in Manchester and partaking in our season thus far...

Actually imagine it. Even if he's got the best will in the world it'll feel like a let down.

I don't think he's ambivalent, I just get the feeling that he's let down with what he's turned up to.

Exactly. Didn't know there was so many psychologists on the caf..

Who said you couldn't?

Di Maria was celebrating whilst sat on his arse that he'd just won a penalty. He seemed happy with his contribution. I don't get this "doesn't look arsed" stuff. Van Gaal wanted to leave him out after the attempted burglary but Di Maria wanted to play. If he wasn't arsed, he'd take the leave as a holiday.

Scholes criticised his body language earlier in thee season, about how he wasn't smiling. We weren't winning! It'd be fecking weird if Di Maria was grinning like a chimp and doing the love-heart with his fingers after we just got tanked 5-3 at Leicester, wouldn't it? It was all the same stuff about RVPs body language last season. We were shite last season. Quite right that everyone looked pissed off.

Personally I think formations mean absolutely feck all other than a 3 or 4 at the back. You can argue that almost every 4 at the back formation is ultimately the same thing but varied by the particular game plan which isn't dictated by the formation itself.

No idea. Something just looks off with him. I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe he's pissed off with our style of play. Obviously Madrid player far more attacking, attractive than we are serving up. I still think he'll be here next season, but I'm not sure about long term. Things really haven't clicked for him yet after a positive start.

This place is slowly starting to resemble RAWK.

The 'glory hunters' tag about UTD fans is largely true.

Well I'm sure most players would be pissed off with our style of play over the past couple of months given how bad it's been. Long term he'll be fine here so long as we find a cohesive system going. No player would "click" suddenly and be consistently class in every game in a team that has been as disjointed as we've been. It's inconsistent performances at best, at least attacking wise.

Aye, hopefully you're right.

Smalling is an accident waiting to happen every game. Lacks aggression and brains. Rojo is our best centre-half by a margin.

Rooney is not a great #9...he's at his best playing off another striker. The people thinking he'd do great up top by himself have forgotten how poor his touch/holding up can be. His work-rate and all round ability are useful as a 10 though.

Van Persie is our best striker, and still one of the best in the world. Still has a lovely touch, decent feet. He's lacking a bit of confidence and he has had shocking service/not close enough to goal. He still shows moments of pure class every match.

Van Gaal is a stubborn man and is pretty daft/eccentric, however, he's still doing an adequate job. He has a track record, and at least he's inventive and progressive. Get behind him, stop moaning every single week. He regularly tries many changes, but is too stubborn to change when they aren't working.

I don't get this from the match going fans, home and away. I think they have been quite patient considering some of the performances that have been served up, and I doubt Van Gaal peruses the Red Café, twitter face book etc., for your valuable support ......from the safety of your armchair.

Liverpool will be title challengers again next season if they manage to keep Sturridge fit.

Everton have a better players than Spurs.

I think we'll be a cup team under LvG, we'll compete for the cups (win a few) and finish top 3 until he leaves. We won't win the league in the coming three years.
We should have done all we could to get Mourinho to replace SAF, said it then and still believe so. He might not be everybody's cup of tea but he's a fantastic manager and a strong personality despite people hating him.

I really, really doubt that. Not even from the point of view of a rival - just being totally honest, I seriously doubt you'll finish in the top 4 again for the foreseeable future.

Not unless Wenger leaves Arsenal and they have a wobble.

Glad to hear this, the average 'internet fans' are doing my nut in.

Sorry but that’s bollocks, people come on this site to get rid of their frustrations and discuss the team, good and bad. Having an opinion doesn’t make you a glory hunter, nor does it make you a superior fan.

Van Gaal will win a Champions League with Manchester United.

I hope you’re right, however I feel it’s more likely that he will lay the foundations for our next manager to win the Champions League.

What are you banging on about here? I never said having an opinion makes you a glory hunter.

I'm not so sure, Liverpool are playing some good football and could easily become title contenders with a few more additions. I feel the Liverpool team is undersestimated on here.

Agree with this. Liverpool blew their best chance to win the title in years last year. Obviously you don't know how the future will pan out, but I really don't see them putting in a concerted title challenge for at least five years although Rodgers is a very good manager.

Notice what? People supporting different clubs?

People just becoming really uninterested. Not watching the games, not as interested in trying to get up to Manchester for a game, don't engage in 'banter' with opposition mates anymore.

Plus how quick some are to call staff member 'idiots' etc or fly planes over OT.

What do you mean by this then?

Erm, that I think that the a lot of UTD fans are in fact what I would term 'glory hunters'? Fairly self explanatory.

The comment above is unrelated, but also something I consider to be true.

What's that five years based on? Pulled out of thin air?

Hang on there fella. United are sending me into a deep sleep. Watching us thesedays feels like a competition on how long one can stay awake. Now, that's nowt to do with our relatively average side but more to do with the way we play. I think most fans would prefer entertaining exciting football over win-at-all-cost crap or lacklustre three points weekly. Glory? Nah.... Just entertain me.

Ok, no need to get so defensive, I wasn't referring to you.

The insults thrown towards some of the staff is annoying though, I don't care how bored you are by our play.

If it's self explanatory then are you saying this place is full of folk who are switching to clubs with better chances to win silverware? Clearly United fans aren't go to be glory hunting this season...

It’s not self-explanatory at all. You said this forum is turning into RAWK and that the 'Glory Hunters' tag about United fans is largely true. Why do you think that?

No, I'm not being defensive, I don't care, it's a game of football. That's all. I've got an issue with you calling folk glory hunters.

I formed my opinion the same way everyone forms their opinion, from their experiences. I find this place to be as bad as RAWK, particularly on match day, and find myself coming across more and more fans that I would term 'glory hunters'. Is that ok with you?

I'm not going to give you a step by step breakdown of how I reached these opinions, that would be too long, all you need to know is that they are my opinions, and clearly unpopular ones at that.
