Where's the reason in the belief that Ronaldo DOES care about Utd? Or that our fans SHOULD support a Real Madrid player more than they support many of our own players?

Madrid are a shit-house of a club and it says a lot about Ronaldo that he'd rather go to them than stay at Utd while we were easily the better team.

I refer to the implication that liking Ronaldo = homoerotica.

Yeah, that was unnecessary and borderline homophobic. I'm not sure why Phil included that when he had valid points to make on the issue.

I dont think Fellaini is pure shite, and I think he can be of value for us, if things go his way more . Very bad start, he came in injured, came in the worst United side ever, got a lot of abuse, and the wrong role was expected from him (creative CM)/

Yesssss.

I wonder if there's any point in having hopes for this season whilst our defence is so shite. Might have to grit our teeth and hope for some good buys in the next two transfer markets. Still, they might surprise us, but atm I'm not looking forward to Chelsea.

We've definitely still got a chance at 4th, which should probably be our realistic aim. Won't be easy, but none of our likely main competitors (Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton) have set the world alight themselves this season, which is a positive.

Fellaini HAS to start our next to games. The more advanced up the field, the better.

Against Chelsea? Nah. He did well to get his goal tonight and can make an impact against smaller teams, but he's generally poor in the big games.

Yes of course we've got a chance. I'm just not going to bank on it.

I'm happy with what we've got in midfield and up front. Sort out the back and we'll be cooking on gas again. Frustrated but not exactly down-hearted.

Not if he's played up front. He should play alongside Falcao with Di Maria in the hole.

He's not a striker, though. I understand that he has his uses, but I really don't think we should be playing Marouanne Fellaini - who is not a striker - up front against the best team in the league.

Who do you honestly believe will cause Chelsea's defence more problems right now, Fellaini or Van Persie?

He did quite well against us a few years back.

I'd trust the established Premier League striker in RVP who came close to scoring tonight over Fellaini, as ridiculous as it may sound.

It's not as daft as my idea of playing De Gea in goal ahead of Sir Alex Ferguson, however.

Seriously though, Fellaini did well to get his goal tonight, but it's his first ever goal for the club. It'd be nonsensical to put him up front against Chelsea next week, even if he has his height. He's not a striker, and playing one route football is unlikely to benefit us at all.

He's good when he's used as a big lump in a fairly advanced position, but it'd be incredibly backwards for us to begin reverting to that sort of style, even if the game is against Chelsea.

Until we sign players at the back that can stay fit we won't get top four. It doesn't matter how you rate the players, if they cannot stay fit they are waste of space. Every game we look like we've never played together.

All three of Evans, Smalling and Jones were overrated by sections of the caf and none of them will be top quality CBs (though some have more chance of proving me wrong than others).

For all our big name attacking 'stars', only Di Maria lives up to the reputation :nervous:

I think a lot of the hype that surrounded Smalling in particular was justified a few years ago. He was already developing into a very good defender and looked set to become a top class one. He's not kicked on at all though in recent times.

Yep, I used to think he was our best natural defender and was going to be a quality CB but as is I'd be happy if he even managed to turn into a consistently good player

Yeah, I've still got some hopes for Jones. I like Evans, but never really felt he was going to be a truly world class defender. Looks like that's probably going to be the case with him. Good player, but not a great one.

Januzaj is the most over rated youngster in the premier league. Not based on tonight but in general. Sterling is miles ahead and i'm starting to think Berahino is ahead of him as well.

Januzaj looks like he has a bit of an attitude as well, too much hype too soon? Not basing this last bit on a lot other than general body language.

I can see where you are coming from in that last part, That was a concern to me last night to, Given a chance in the first 11 he looked like it was a right that should be given and not earned, I think he is a big talent and i've got high hopes for him, But the attitude he had last night won't do him any favours, It reminded of the way Kiko Macheda acted after scoring that goal, he seemed to stroll around and not look interested in putting the effort in either, I've always been against loaning him out to another team but now starting i'm starting to think that he needs it now more then ever

Are you serious?

Buying RvP was a mistake. Falcao was a mistake.
Agreed.

The second one, I wouldn't say a mistake, but I don't see the complete sense behind buying him to use him in the system we're using.
I could understand it if van Persie was going next summer, but that wont happen with van Gaal here.

For me, it was more like we had Welbeck and Hernandez already. If utilized properly and with confidence they are well wnough to support Rooney. Rather than givin them a consistent run of games in right position to perform, judgement was passed to be rid of them and get Falcao. The point being both of them could have been benched without much noise whilst RvP/Falcao would create a ruckus for not being a regular starter.

RVP will come back stronger as ever in a few weeks, watch him score against both Chelsea and City.

They're a circus of a club with a disgraceful history.

Read up on their history and financing would be my suggestion.

Exactly, Real Madrid is probably the 2nd club I know the most, that's why I dislike them. The homoerothic was not intended to be homofobic.
