Antonio Valencia isn't half as bad as he is made out to be, is deserving of a place in our squad and his contract renewal shouldn't be met with the derision and abuse it has been.

This shouldn't be as unpopular as it is.

AV can be useful, he was one of the best wingers 3 seasons ago. Shame about that leg, he never fully recovered from it.

Pretty sure he was out with a hip injury. It was after that his pace just seemed to have disappeared and he became pretty average.

Did his hip at the end of 2012, he wasn't in the best form leading up to that anyway I don't think but it can't have helped.

We're not going to spend much this Summer, and we're not going to get anywhere near the top 4.

Alan Keegan the stadium announcer / MUTV presenter is one of the worst around, his voice is so annoying, get rid

A lot of posters on here overrate Van Gaal's ability.

Unless top quality players are brought in we won't make top four.

This "war chest" never existed, we won't spend over 50M, 2-3 players brought in at most.

Moyes and Round got an enormous amount of criticism for having that folder of information and I haven't seen any mention of the leather binder which van Gaal carries everywhere. In the end people were grasping for sticks to flog Moyes with instead of the biggest one which was 'results aren't good enough,' and yet we like to think of ourselves as superior.

My concerns were always about performance over results, Davis moyes was good enough but cmon get serious Steve round was so far out of his depth a world war 2 depth charger wouldn't have hit him.

Phil Neville isn't that bad a pundit. I think his dopey looks and the way he talks makes him an easy target for many.

Wingers/wing play is boring. Not wide players as such but:

Run, get to the line, cross. Run, get to the line, cross. X 8 repeats a half..

Well he did just say that Gerrard should be in the team for Euro 2016...

I like Mark Lawrenson as a commentator.
Götze is better than Hazard.
Ross Barkley is a lot more James Milner than Wayne Rooney.
The refs' disappearing spray is not the best thing since sliced bread.
It's just not fair on the fourth official to have to hold up some Hublot spaceship to display the added time at this World Cup.

Some more unpopular than others.

Agree with all three. And relating to the last point, I also believe the budget (I believe it was about £30 million last summer) was a big reason for the messiness last summer.

Of course Moyes could have gone for Strootman still, so he has to take some blame, but some of (in fact, almost all of) our bids baffled me, and they only pointed towards trying to not go over a budget.

Cleverly is not as bad as what most on the caf think.

The "major signings" that Woodward was promising is just a ploy to get Man Utd fans to renew their season ticket after a dismal season that see us failing to qualify for ECL for the 1st time since 1995.

LvG, as his records suggest, would rely more on promoted youth players than signing players. His appointment is also made for this reason.

Darren Fletcher should have retired.

US are a better a team than England right now and would likely beat them if they were to meet in a match at this World Cup.

You can do all the squad comparisons to debunk this, but football doesn't work that way as Italy found out against Costa Rica or Spain did with Chile.

I'd actually feel pretty confident of a US win if they played England.

I said the same thing to the septic at work just last week.

Feck it, while I'm at it.

Paul Pogba, as talented as he is, is an arrogant little prick that tried to hold the club to ransom, I'm sorry but there are ways and means to prove yourself and engineering a move away. Because you weren't being played is a joke. And frankly, despite his obvious talent I am shocked that so many on the caf would open your arms to have him back so bloody quickly

Yes I would have him back. And yes he vindicated himself by becoming an instant hit at Juventus, thus proving that Fergie got it wrong by not giving him more game time and for playing Rafael and Park in CM against Blackburn Rovers and for bringing back Scholes out of retirement. If you were in his shoes and Juventus came calling you'd have to seriously consider your options. Don't pretend that you wouldn't because you're looking at this from the viewpoint of being a United fan. Bravo to the kid, he did what was right for him. In a hearbeat i'd take him back

And Welbeck scored 6 in 6 when played as a striker while Rooney and RVP were injured. He also scored 13 the season before RVP came to United.

Because you like what he has to say, or because you grew up with him and he's just part of the furniture? I could agree with the latter, but not the former.

With so many of our players being criticize such as Kagawa, Young, Carrick, Valencia,Welbeck, Nani, Cleverley, Fellaini, Hernandez, Rooney, Smalling, and Zaha. And the usual injuries prone players like Evans, Jones, RVP, and Rafael. I wonder if posters here find it easy to come up with a formation including their best 11 without any players they criticize before or complained they are injury prone.

I couldn't agree more. The thread about his contract renewal was embarrassing, with an Everton fan being one of the first to post anything half-way balanced about Valencia if I remember correctly.

Luke Shaw is the new Rooney in the sense that he is not going to improve as much as people expect and be criticised for it but still be really, really good.

Pirlo is overrated by the media in the UK.

We might as well sign Dirk Kuyt while we are at it. Cant dribble, pass or shoot also but works hard and has a great team mentality and can also play RB!
