Uniteds summer activity

I don't understand how he would know what SAF is thinking. Who is this guy anyway?

Ian McGarry (whoever that is):

Agent involved with Neymar has said he met with reps of #MUFC #CFC and #MCFC when in London last weekend. Could see him here soon.

Interesting that #MUFC fans sceptical club have cash for Neymar. Have they spent £80m for for Ronaldo? SAF said he will sign '2 or 3'.

I hear #MUFC will make one 'marquee' signing in summer. A replacement for Scholes. Could be Sneijder but why not Neymar?

Ok. One striker out. One in. SAF planning different formation for next season to increase #MUFC goals. Trying not to give it all away here!

Wellbeck def back and in reckoning. I believe Berba will be sold if asking price is met and #MUFC will go 4-3-3 if they get right players.

OK. centtal should not have appeared before GK. Typo rather than description of GK!

Its just the way it is.

Fergie too has said he doesn't want to spend too much on big name players.Rather go for younger or cheaper players who could be very good for United.

He doesnt go for younger or cheaper, he goes for younger players with potential. Hernandez, smalling, obertan ect, all ronaldo like signings, who we plan on developing to top players. 2 of the 3 i listed seem to be well on their way to becoming top, established players, meaning the transfer strategy isnt that bad.

So Isn't that what I said too?

And where I am criticizing anything about it?

I hope to have a Sneijder 7 Jersey come August.

McGarry's a Chelsea-supporting cnut who writes for the Sun. He shut the feck up a few months back but he's suddenly all chirpy and brown-nosing the blues again.

what's the fuss about rodwell ? He has hardly set premier league alight and seems to be a sicknote, talking 20 million plus for him would be outrageous.

I also dont think we should sign henderson cos we already got this type of player in cleverly.

GK, central mid and a winger will be bought.

I hope it's- reina(just to piss scousers off), young and m'villa.

I would also really like gary cahill although again asking price too much.

I too have never understood this Rodwell fuss.

I mean not only is he injury prone but what has he really done to be rated to highly?

Now that fergie has talked about looking at players again, the papers will link us with everyone and random nobodies will claim to be ITK.

I think Fergie enjoys it. Everytime the press stop talking, he mentions wanting to sign someone or looking at a few players and gets them started again :D

Anderson Sahin Banega

I honestly believe that midfield would enjoy playing against Barcelona and give as good as they got. Nobody else would touch them

I would be over the moon if we got...

A Goalkeeper
Young
Rodwell
Modric or Sneijder

Over-the-fecking-moon!

Bale would be someone I would love to see in a United shirt but I don't know if the transfer fee won't make him unattainable for us. I think he is going to be an absolute superstar in all honesty. Can see him at Chelski or City :(

I doubt we will have anywhere near as productive summer as that though. Shame, as Man United it should be, but definitely isn't, expected.

Young, Rodwell and Modric. I dont know how we could waste more money and our team gain less.

Does Banega have a buyout clause?

The only issue I'd see there is they might be overpowered a bit by more physical teams. Then again they might warm to the task, I suppose.

I agree, it wouldn't improve us at all bar Modric.

Agreed. Thankfully KingMinger isn't Fergie.

I'm sure he does have a buyout, but like with most Spanish players its probably a lot higher than is needed to actually sign them.

What he does have is a history of falling out with Unai Emery his manager - although that goes for about half the team, and when you have discipline problems with a bunch of different names it suggests the manager doesnt have the full confidence of the dressing room.

And he hasnt been one of Valencia's main players this season being used a lot of the time till now as a sub. In the past 3 months is when his form has come good again and he's had a big impact. But if you're offered decent money, when your club needs money, and the player isnt always starting... Then perhaps you're more willing to accept it even if he is your best player.

I actually think all 3 players have good strength and would be able to play quick 1 and 2 touch football to cut out opposition midfields.

Money aside you think he'd bring nothing to our team????????

Not nothing, but not as much as a couple of other midfielders. My point there was mainly about Rodwell and Young both being signed as well.

We're talking what, £30 million or so for Modric, at least £15 million for Rodwell and even at a cut price Young would be something like £12 million yeah?

For £57 million I'd expect more than 1 player who will come right into the team and add to our passing ability in midfield. We could probably get Fabregas for that and he does more than just pass.

Sure the other 2 would improve the squad, but our squad is already as good as anyone else's.

Interesting. When I've seen him he's looked a clever player but he also seems a bit hot and cold, no?

Yeah, they'd be a lovely footballing side I just wonder if they'd be tailor made, as a three, to the Premier League. Not so much against the big teams but in the games where you have to slog it out a bit.

Interesting. When I've seen him he's looked a clever player but he also seems a bit hot and cold, no?

I'm not too sure what the criteria is for hot and cold. I mean he was very consistantly Valencia's best player last season. There were a handful of games where he wasnt brilliant but he was more consistantly excellent than any of their other players.

This season he was injured, then on his return to the team Valencia were trying out new formations and he was picked at the head of a diamond. He played in the hole a couple of times last season as well, to this point I've not seen him play well there once. And I dont believe he has the mobility and goalscoring to play that position so I'm unsurprised that he didnt convince there this season either.

After that Valencia were playing Tino Costa and David Albelda. Banega was mainly making appearances off the bench, they were mostly just okay performances with one or two poor performances.

Then he went away on international duty with Argentina and was really good in a win against Spain. This was like September or August. Since about christmas time he's been back in very good form for Valencia. So it took a long time for him to get back to his better form this season, but hot and cold? Not really. When he's been playing well he's been playing well and when he was playing poorly he was just playing poorly.

Yeah, they'd be a lovely footballing side I just wonder if they'd be tailor made, as a three, to the Premier League. Not so much against the big teams but in the games where you have to slog it out a bit.

I think they are clever players when it comes to moving with the ball and the quick football would lead to fouls rather than loss of the ball against physical teams. No matter how powerful the opposition are, they'd need to time their tackles well or they'd be picking up cards. So while I'm sure certain sides would fancy playing against them I just dont think the reality would be that physical sides could contain them.

de gea: we definitely need a keeper and his name seems to be top of the list
sneijder: the marquee signing we need to sort out the midfield and fill scholes hole
young: we need a winger, hes english and will be cheaper than other options
rodwell: classic fergie signing

That's 70-80 million right there. Good luck.

leave the negotiating to others. these are pretty much guaranteed but lukaku could also come in if berba leaves.

*there are a number of alternatives lined up should it not be possible to sign sneijder for a reasonable fee;these include sahin and taarabt as the value option.

We will have a Valencia-like signing, a Diouf-like one, and probably an established keeper, I think. The Caf will die again.

this may be from football rumours.com but it doesn´t sound to wide of the mark....

My source at MUTV has advised me of the following:

Owen Hargreaves & Michael Owen to be offered 1 year contract extensions - talks literally got under way this morning.

Wes Brown unfortunately looks like he's on his way out in the summer though.

Sunderland have an offer of £14 million on the table for Danny Welbeck for United to make a decison as & when they see fit.

Ashley Young & Jack Rodwell are 90% complete, Liverpool & Spurs were sniffing around Young too which forced Fergie to make his move earlier than expected.

Kiko Macheda has informed Fergie that he hasn't enjoyed his time in Italy & is really looking forward to returning to Manchester!

There has been a sum of cash set aside for a "marquee" signing - the players being looked at are Wesley Sneijder, Marek Hamsik & Danielle De Rossi.

United have dropped their interest in Alexis Sanchez as they are convinced the likes of City, Chelsea, Barca & Real will all be in for him & the price will be sky high therefore Fergie has got Ashley Young boxed off early doors.

The Goalkeeper scenario - Tommy K is off, Anders Lindegaard will be number 2, Ben Amos number 3 & According to my guy who I spoke to this morning - Pepe Reina will be number 1, De Gae was first choice but he has concerns about moving away from his family at such a young age.

How does it make sense that we're off Sanchez as City and Chelsea would be after him, but it'll be fine for Sneider and De Rossi? They might not be after Hamsik, but that would mainly be down to his average form. Load of rubbish
