United under LvG: verdict so far!

We looked dodgy for the first 15 mins. But then our players sorted it out all amongst themselves, without any one from our staff intervening at all. Philosophy.

Eating humble pie. Lost faith in him after Arsenal but fair play to the man, he's proved me wrong. Great recent set of results.

He's done it. It all finally clicked for us. Almost at the point where it was now or never. But since moving to the 4-3-3 we look a different side.

It has clicked and now the sky is the limit... just a shame it comes a bit late for this season, but we can now plan comfortably for next season

Fellaini, Young and Valencia. Seems to get the best out of players. Those 3 were players most of us wanted to get rid of last summer.

His big game record is on par with Mourinho you can see he prepares for these games immaculately. We are so comfortable on the ball even against the top four now.

Just heard an analogy by Kyle Martino comparing us to Daniel-san painting fences and waxing cars for Mr. Miyagi. Now it's all finally paying off. To think some on here were actually comparing LVG to Moyes. Bring on Chelsea!

Same here. Hope he keeps proving me an idiot.

Win the title Louis! Show me up to be a right plank. I'll love you for it!

Some growing pains that took longer than expected but we pushed through it and still carried decent results, now we are seeing what LVG wants and what we can achieve. The right additions to this squad and we could get very good, very quickly.

you know what he's brought back? That fight, that belief that even if you go a goal down, the match isn't lost, it's still there to be won. Keep playing the way we have trained for, don't lose your head...don't let your heads go down. Keep going. Telling you, I'm just bloody delighted for LVG, because he's a fighter, albeit a calm one. And there is no doubt he's loving it here at United. Fergie said that Cantona needed a stage that was big enough for his ego, then he would flourish. Well, OT is the same for LVG. After not truly understanding the competitiveness of the Premier League, he's finally understood it and adapted what he has to do to win.

Although ridiculous now, you need to look back just a few months ago to the dire, shit on a stick football we were playing to understand where the comparisons were coming from.

The injury to RVP that forced him into a tactical re-think really was a blessing in disguise.

Our performances since the Arsenal FA cup match have been sensational and you have to credit the manager for that.

I was starting to think that maybe LVG was the wrong man for the job, but he has certainly changed my opinion.

13 points out of 18 against the Top4, well done LvG. With our current form even a win at Stamford Bridge wouldn't shock me, but Mou will most likely make a borefest out of it and it will end in a dull draw.

Say what you want about him, he's big game champ (hope I don't jinx the Chelsea game saying that). You wouldn't have seen us come back like that under Moyes no matter who he had at his disposal. That's a Fergie-esque "managerial performance". No doubt he's got us in the right direction.

The entire way we played our football needed completely revitalised and actually, apologies for the dramatic word, but somewhat revolutionised.

We needed to control games, keep possession and deal with opposition pressing games. Van Gaal is well on the way to doing this.

We're controlling the flow of every game we play and it's not a coincidence. With the right recruitment and the same work ethic from the players then Van Gaal could do something quite brilliant here.

Watching the first 10 minutes @Twigginater was getting excited about starting another 'has David Moyes been vindicated thread'.

The character of the team was excellent, in the space of a season look at the progress we have made, those comparisons

Let's make no mistake here......We had a top 4 spoofer last season claiming that we were an awful team on the decline. Moyes only go the job in the first place based on being from Scotland. 12 months later with a proper manager in charge and suddenly the mid-table players we have like Valenica, Young and Fellaini are suddenly looking like world beaters. Moyes was a mid-table chancer and the fact he is in charge of Real Sociedad now proves everything. Well done LVG

And Van Gaal didn't even need to run up and down the touchline shouting. Who would've thunk it.
Indeed haha.

The other thing is, how we played the second half. On the front foot thru out. Which itself is an improvement over recent stuff, like the Liverpool game for example.

Van Gaal admits that using up all his subs to give minutes to his players "was stupid of him"

Leicester and a couple of results we could have got against the lower teams and we would be up there. That's how close we are in our current form.

Giving minutes to players against City with the match wrapped out. Moyes could only dream of that. Remember we have to aspire to city? Maybe city should aspire to be united now, as they always had been

We're playing better football now than we did in Ferguson's last few seasons. The improvement in the middle of the pitch is massive.

The arousal of the fans. There will be more arousal if you sign Hummels, Reus and Gundogan!

Louis Van Gaal is an absolutely World Class manager.

I'm very, very impressed.

It's so frustrating. When you think about the fact that we've dropped points against Villa, Leicester Sunderland and Burnley it gives a massive case of 'what if?'...
