United in this Summer transfer window

Fellaini would be a good signing, I can see us having to pay over his release clause to get him though which would be mental given how long we have been linked with him

Should have had that deal wrapped up ages ago, he would have improved us today.

We're going to end up with just Fellaini, which as I've said a million times is just underwhelming.

We can generate a few improvements within what we already have though. Valencia is a far better option at RB than Jones when Rafael is out. And we can start to pick Kagawa and Nani.

Just Fellaini? Arsenal have bought noone yet and at most would get Ozil.

Chelsea got a bunch of attacking midfielders which they didnt need. We have not had a bad window if we signed Fellaini, it would be satisfying.

Yes the manner in which our business has been done has been baffling. Part of me finds it hard to accept it's down to ineptitude so I end up speculating what might be going on behind the scenes. But it's hard to avoid the conclusion that Woodward has had a bit of a nightmare introduction. Hopefully he'll get into the swing of things soon enough.

Dave Wheland confirming Everton talks over McCarthy would seem like Fellaini to United's a done deal.

Fellaini being the only purchase in the summer following Fergie's retirement is pretty atrocious in my opinion. There's no way of dressing it up - Moyes clearly wanted more. Fellaini's not going to add anywhere near enough to our squad on his own.

'At most Ozil', fecking hell he's multiple times the player Fellaini will ever be.

We obviously went wrong somewhere. I wish Gill stayed til the end of the transfer window to give Woody time to adjust to his new role.

We went wrong when Edward feckwit Woodward was promoted.

You could offer him a present, he'd consider it, and want a fiver for accepting it

Looks like we'll get fellaini, I know it's reading between the lines but Wigan turned down a 10 million bid from everton for James McCarthy so possibly everton are planning for life after fellaini?

I'm starting to think there have been a few things wrong with our pre season. Firstly no David Gill. Would have been good to have an old hand to help Moyes and perhaps it has hindered us. Secondly Moyes not having long enough to assess what he wants to do with the squad. He came in a bit late back from holiday.

If we don't add by tomorrow night I have a strange feeling the money simply isn't there or is tied up. This will be reflected on who does actually move (Ozil to Arsenal would boggle the mind if we don't act). If something like that happens and we just sit there then we will have been full of hot air in my opinion with no intentions to spend anything for whatever reason.

The best thing would probably been to have Moyes as assistant for a year before taking over.

It's depressing seeing ozil and kaka moving and no mention of us!

Best case, we nick ozil and get fellaini. Worst case, we get no one and Anderson leaves to become a professional eater.

How has it come to this?

Strengthen midfield - we had one job.

We're going to end up with a substandard player (Fellaini) and we're going to pay more than we could have done months back, when we could have got him in for a proper pre-season.

feck this. I am avoiding everything tomorrow. Full on Mugabe media lockdown and hope to awake from that lockdown with some players arriving.

Such a bullshit window

Why didn't we just get Fellaini early on? At least we'd have had better options for our difficult start.

Again I don't understand. The player had a release clause so if we wanted him why not get him early then if needs be leave our other targets later? I think it all smells a bit of indecision on our part as to who we need/want. Like I said I don't think it's been the best summer with Fergie and Gill going, Moyes returning late from holiday, all new staff and the Rooney saga.

Is it wrong to want Woodward out, sooner rather than later. His tigh ass financial strategies being the main reason.

If we pay too much for Fellaini - we could deal with it because we need a midfielder badly.

If we pay too much for Leighton Baines though who we don't need......

Fellaini had a release clause which we did not trigger, quite baffling really

So we are gonna spend £40m and get a centre mid that most of us agree isn't good enough for what we need, and a left back that we don't need in the slightest.

It doesn't change the fact that he'd strengthen them far more than Fellaini would improve us.
We can not control what other clubs do. We buy what we need most and that is midfield presence and power. Fellaini fits the bill, ozil does not, we are not city who can throw around money to buy players they don't need to stop other clubs from having him.

Ozil would be a massive improvement over Giggs.
