United in this Summer transfer window

Moyes, saying we're doing lots in the background to sign players and we shouldn't be fooled by the lack of activity. Who is he trying to kid?

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on you for trying to fool me again. Shame me thrice and something something.

My life is so bad, I can't brag to anyone about the multi-million pound transfer that the team I follow have completed, because they haven't completed one.

It's only the 11th day since the transfer window officially opened and since the new manager took charge, but it's over...there is no hope. No trophies, no wins, we're the new Liverpool and eventually all of us will be supporting sky blue because we're plastic as feck.

This forum! This fecking forum! They won't let you revel in the optimism of a potential new signing, and now they won't let you wallow in the misery of missing out on one. Tyrants.

Just a note.

I looked up some of Evertons bigger transfers over the last few years (obviously with Moyes as manager) and I was shocked at how many were at the end of the transfer window.

In fact I don't think there was a single one before August. And I was shocked at how many were actually done on the last day. I do always remember them being quite slow in the markets.

Hopefully this is just because Everton had little money and it was out of Moyes' hands. But I really don't like the idea of playing the waiting game with all our transfers. And to be fair, United don't exactly look on the cusp of making anything happen any time soon.

Different situations.

We go for different players, it's up to the manager who he wants not how we get them. United have always put the groundwork in before the window and tried to execute it ASAP. Obviously sometimes that takes time and results in a late move.

Interesting, indeed because even his Everton quotes are matching with the United ones. This first tournee may give him a few new ideas about the squad so the possibility of August's shopping is getting higher and higher with each day.

If we finish the transfer window with this as our team:

De Gea

Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra

Carrick Fabregas

Zaha Mata Kagawa

RVP

Then I honestly believe that I'll be sorted for next Summer too. That's an insane team full of talent and experience.

Nani for Zaha & we're good to go.

Silly season really has started in earnest now, hasn't it?

I heard that Moyes had become famous with Everton fans at dragging things out too long and pulling out of deals at the very end plenty of times.

I don't remember a crazier transfer window, and it's still a long way to go.

It would be nice if something actually went in our favour, mind.

And still, no one significant has left and no one significant has signed.

This could drag on.

This is by far the craziest transfer merry go round in years. We're all jacked up on some sort of deluded ecstasy mixed with the hopes and dreams of a thousand days waiting for a CM.
Add in the Thiago deal, Fellaini wigs, Mata + 10m for Rooney and Fabregas, and you've got yourself the ingredients for a nuthouse.

I won't be surprised if the transfer forum is overloaded so much that when it all ends, we'll be packed off to a mental asylum with wards known as Benzema hall of lost memories, The Hazardous ward for the terminally ill, The Sneijder ward for the clinically insane, and the ultra famous Fabregasted Thiagonitis filled Barca ward.

And no, I'm not on crack.

I just pray, for the sake of all muppets (and the fact that our team would be pretty shit in comparison), that's it's not just Fellaini and Baines, at the expense of Rooney, come the end of the window.

FFS, please someone make a Redcafe goes into Muppet Meltdown thread!

Some comedy gold on this forum atm.

Please see the below quote. I think it describes our current situation perfectly.

Craig Bellamy's claim from a couple of months ago is a testament to that.

The clock is ticking and we are getting closer and closer to the PL starts. Time on your side is often one of the best tools you have when you negotiate, we seems to miss out on this thing too. To compare. From Peps first public comments regarding Thiago to done deal it took Bayern less the four days. Time for less talking and more actions.

Moyes should do the same for Fabregas. Tell him that he's the center piece of a 5 year plan for a mind boggling amount of success.

Ah shut up you ya crack head.

This is a crazy window without us actually doing anything. Rooney is still here and we still don't have a midfielder.

Given how long the scouting of players takes, and Fergie's comments about leaving the club in the strongest possible state, you'd have assumed potential signings would have been earmarked months ago.

Of course these would have needed to have been approved by Moyes coming in, but I'd like to think we're a lot more organised than the press has portrayed us as being. Moyes said that they're working on bringing in the best (which i'd assume wasn't just the likes of Fellaini) and that he's comfortable at the stage they are at in negotiations.

I'd hope that we're in for a surprise announcement, but the casual way in which the club has announced/let stories leak around Woodward's movements etc is quite concerning.

Yeah, but obviously a big part of the issue is that Moyes from some reason seems to think we need midfielders, when Fergie didn't bother with them anymore.

I'm still baffled that this summer has been as crazy as it has (media/fans wise) without anything significant happening in England.

You've got a story about Bale which won't go away until he ever moves.

You've got Fabregas who says he doesn't want to move, but still linked with a move.

You've got Modric who moved to Madrid last year and if the tabloids are correct, is the newest product in the Madrid outlet.

You've got the Lewandowski saga, with quotes from his national team coach from a year ago fresh in the memory of United fans.

Garay must have been ready to sign about 47 times.

We made a bid for Baines, but we haven't agreed a deal even though people assume he's going to come.

Fellaini is our only hope of a midfielder, apparently.

I cannot wait for the real football season to start, and September 1st to hit. Silly season hasn't been sillier and I love a big transfer.

It's the busiest window for nothing happening ever! You didn't even mention the month long Thiago saga.

To me, it almost seems like we're using a bit of a scattergun tactic, spraying bids and interest all over the shop and hoping something sticks.

In the meantime, someone high up is doing a terrific job leaking it all to the press, making us look like real players, even though we've actually done nothing yet, and it's 18th July and time is rolling on.

My opinion on transfer likelihood out of 10? 10 being done deal, 1 being as likely as us signing Messi

Bale 1/10
Fabregas 3/10
Baines 4/10
Fellaini 3/10

Out

Rooney to Chelsea 3/10
Evra to France 2/10

IN short, not a lot doing!

With all the negativity on the caf these days, you'd think we're suffering the plight of Liverpool over the last 20 years.

I can't even imagine the meltdown here when we lose our first game. The "Moyes Out!!!" thread can't be that far off.

We lost in pre season already, didnt we? Get him the feck out

I reckon we will end the summer very happy and excited by a pair of top quality recruits.

Feels like we're trying to pull off the marquee signing first then Garay, baines and Fellaini will follow
