United eyes on Krasic

Krasic played 90 minutes as CSKA Moscow were demolished 3-0 by my hometown team, FC Dnipro, yesterday. Pavel Pashaev, a right-back playing at left-back for (I think?) the first time in his life kept him quiet all game long.

This is not really relevant to the Krasic transfer speculation, but I thought I'd give it a mention...:smirk:

That is interesting. The other two pre-season games he has been on fire but anyway they are friendlies so I am not too worried. Watching him against Sevilla next week will be the real deal, though I don't see how CSKA will be at 100% for that match.

This is the headline on bbc.com

Bayern Munich look set to beat Chelsea to the signature of CSKA Moscow's Serbian winger Milos Krasic.

I may have used the wrong word. I should have said they are leading the chase now.

He would seem like a Bayern or Arsenal type of signing wouldn't he.

Arsenal are loaded with wingers. Bayern seems more logical with their French winger going to one of the big clubs.

CSKA Moscow's sought-after winger Milos Krasic will decide his future before the World Cup.

The Serbian international has caught the eye of Europe's elite this season with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, AC Milan, Liverpool and Bayern Munich all tracking the highly-rated 25-year-old.

Krasic's current deal in Russia expires at the end of the season and the attacking midfielder has eyes on a move to Spain after describing Real as the 'biggest club in the world'.

"For now I'm still a CSKA player and I haven't signed for anybody yet," he told Sportski Zurnal. "But I have a lot of interesting options so I will make my mind up before World Cup.

"I would like to travel to South Africa with nothing on my mind.

"Where would I move? Well based on my playing style (and) lifestyle wishes I wouldn't have any problems adapting to life in Spain.

"Real Madrid - it is by far the biggest club in the world and anybody would love to play in the white shirt.

"But also playing for AC Milan and Manchester United would be dreams come true."

If he can play on the left then sign him. He seems to be a matured player in that his decision making and timing seems spot on. His pace is also frightening

Well, off you go to the Bernabeu then Son, probably for a ridiculously ovwerpriced fee, where within a year you will play under at least two different Managers, and spend lashings of time chatting to Benzema whilst keeping the bench warm, Oh, and you'll win feck all. Don't these arseholes ever learn?

According to reports on the continent, the 25-year-old playmaker is available for a big-money move when the transfer window re-opens with several big clubs already showing an interest.

Serbian international Krasic is said to have impressed Ferguson when CSKA met United in the group stage of the Champions League last year.

And the Scot is prepared to let fan favourite Park go in the opposite direction to land his man.

Krasic is believed to be valued at as much as £16million by his club, although with the South Korean as a makeweight United may be required to spent less than £10million.

However, with most of the money from last summer's £80million sale of Cristiano Ronaldo still burning a hole in Ferguson's pocket, the cash sum required won't be much of a stumbling block.

In 2009/10 Krasic has enjoyed the best season of his career to date, scoring 13 goals and pulling the strings in a CSKA Moscow side that reached the Champions League quarter-finals.

Surprised nobody posted this story in a Krasic thread.. Only in the Park to Bayern thread..

Manchester United are battling with Bayern Munich to sign CSKA Moscow's £15 million-rated winger Milos Krasic, the player's agent revealed today.

Bayern and United head a list of clubs including Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan who have sent scouts to watch the Serbian star in action.

The 25 year-old's agent Dejan Joksimovic told Goal.com UK: "It is true that Milos is wanted by a number of the biggest clubs in Europe. At the moment Bayern are the first choice with United in second place."

Joksimovic revealed that Bayern have stepped up their enquiries into the player with Franck Ribery expected to leave this summer - but he dreams of playing at Old Trafford, and turned down a move to big-spending Manchester City in January because of this.

"The team that has expressed the strongest interest is Bayern Munich. Manchester United have also been interested throughout the season and the player dreams of a move to such a great club.

"In January, he turned down Manchester City as he told me he wanted to move to a side of greater tradition and United are just that sort of club."

The agent confirmed that any move will have to wait until after the World Cup as CSKA hope the star's value will shoot up during the competition. He stated that Bayern hold the advantage due to the presence of Krasic's "best friend" and the man who helped knock United out of the Champions League, Ivica Olic, at the Bavarian giants.

"Krasic speaks no English and his best friend from their time at CSKA, Ivica Olic, would help him settle in Germany but that move depends on Franck Ribery's future.

I like this, but he's a right winger isn't he? And we already have Valencia and Nani, we simply don't need another right winger. If he could play on the left then great, we'd have 3 top class wingers competing for 2 positions. But Valencia can only play RW and Nani is better on the right. We don't need a 3rd player competing for that single place.

true. also I do not think that we re looking at wingers. The main area of concern seems to be central midfield and maybe another striker

Yep, in order of priority this summer should see us looking at a central midfidler, a keeper and a striker. To be honest I'm not personally bothered about the striker, as long as we get a creative midfielder and a new keeper I'll be happy.

A midfidler who can play just about anywhere

He's a good player and I'd have prefered to sign him instead of Valencia. However I dont see a role for him now after the seasons Valencia and Nani have had. Bayern will do well to have him replace Ribery.

Hasn't been that good since the Russian league re-started but its clear he is saving himself for the World Cup. Can't wait to see him bombing down the flanks at the World Cup!

I reckon he'd be great for Chelsea. Krasic and Malouda on the wings - that'd be frightening.

How much would I love for him to join United!!
The boy has a very good vision, not afraid to shoot- perfect for an attacking midfielder and in the final third. The fact that he could also be used as a right winger is irrelevant. He is not afraid to use his left foot, plus he is very quick and mobile.
He may be the missing link. I'll cross my fingers

Bringing a striker who

a) is not afraid of getting into the box
b) doesn't break in pieces with every challenge

as Rooney's cover is a priority.

No, it really isn't - we scored enough goals last season, and players like Macheda, Diouf et al. will only get better (whether or not they ever become top class).

Our biggest concern is that we have 3 first team players who are going into their final season with no replacement ready. So we need a creative attacking midfielder to replace Scholes & Giggs (tall order I know), and a keeper to step into Van der Sar's gloves once he steps down.

If the goal he scored at OT is anything to go by he's very afraid to use his left peg. The goal was wide open and still he went out of his way to use his right.

Bar Rooney, our best top scorer where Berba and Own goal. Even with such stroke of luck (no club had ever benefited from so many own goals in 1 season) we weren't able to score enough to win the league. That's not good enough. Lets face it, if Rooney picks a long term injury then we would still kiss the EPL title goodbye despite having Zidane in central midfield and Buffon as goalkeeper (+ considering the WC Rooney's chances of picking an injury/need to rest will be bigger then last season)

Now I do agree that we need to do some serious investment in midfield and goalkeeper. Stating that Id rather see us stick to VDS for another year (his form was simply breathtaking this year) then relying on a striker who feels awkward in front of goal as our lone striker's cover.

Anyway, the team is good enough and we can still go on top by sticking to a limited transfer budget and do our homework well. What we need to do is some serious restructuring ie replace those players who had failed to deliver at a regular rate with players that are useful.

Saving himself for the World Cup?

Selfish cnut. Not the type of attitude I'd want at United tbh.

I think we've already established your views on this. Krasic has done everything he can in Russia, clearly the most important thing for him now is to play well in the WC and secure his long overdue transfer to a top club.

We still a lack depth on the flanks. Hence we still use a former winger there who some how continues to defy nature luckily enough.

Bayern will do well to have him replace Ribery.
Indeed

Unless Fergie intends to try Valencia in the centre, I can't see the logic in buying Krasic. He does seem brilliant though.
