United eyes on Krasic

He's just not an Ancellotti or Wenger player, both very rarely buy wingers of his type, Liverpool are a possibility if they find the cash from somewhere but that doesn't seem all that likely and we've just spent £17m on Valencia.

It'd be a step forward, he's still establishing himself fully as a player good enough for the very best, so if he can't get a move to a top team at a top league he can just go a step below for now.

If Nani leaves then we'll have an extra slot for a winger.

Neither Valencia or Krasic would be much use on the left wing though, given how one-footed they both are(or seem to be).

Not sure Krasic would come to be back-up, and I doubt Valencia would appreciate it.

Agent: Krasic headed for the Premiership. (Игрок ЦСКРдолжен перебратьÑÑ Ð² Ðнглию - football.ua)

Quotes:

"I think that, if Krasic switches clubs in January, it is 90% certain that he will head to England... Four rich English clubs are interested in his services. A month ago, there was some interest from Milan, but nothing concrete."

CSKA's president, Evgeniy Giner, has previously said that the club will let Krasic (and Akinfeev) go if it receives a bid from one of the very top teams.

Krasic had a decent game on the LW against Portugal a few years ago. Although he is much more suited to the RW position his left foot is better than Valencias IMO, though this may not be difficult.

Stunning goal tonight, must admit I didn't see anything from him in either game to suggest we should be after him but he certainly seems to score goals

Great finish from Krasic. Only saw the second half of which he didn't do much. There was a lovely bit of skill where he juggled the ball over a Besiktas players head and then proceded to dribble it around for a while.

Last game of the season for Krasic tonight, now the soonest you get to see him in action is when Serbia have their next friendly or IF he does indeed get a winter transfer.

Hes no more one footed than Nani who consistently cuts inside from the left whenever hes played there...even his cross for the first Owen goal tonight came about via Nani cutting back onto his right foot....anyone whos seen Krasic's goal tonight will see he cuts inside from the wide left flank very much the same and scored a beauty into the far corner in doing so against Besiktas tonight...

If Nani can play on the left then Krasic who is clearly a far better player can....besides why (if he came) would Krasic automatically be cover for Valencia anyway?? we have a squad rotation system that means theyd both get a fair crack at playing down the right anyway...but they can easily play together on either flank to...options...with Giggsy unable to play more than once and week these days and Nani continuing to dissapoint we could do with another exceptional winger whos ready to be thrust into the first team.

AND hes a far better player than Ljajic.....;)

Ljajic just turned 18 FFS, uncomparable.

Does anyone else think this doping scandal casts a huge shadow over the CSKA players. I'd be worried that if there were two tested and two foud guilty, that they were just the unfortunate ones who were caught.

Yeah, Jamie "meat and two veg" Redknapp made the same point last night. Apparently they only test two players, at random, after each game. If they both test positive, you can draw your own conclusions about the rest.

I dont mind if he doesnt come to United, Id just like to see him playing in England, easier to follow all the games and all that.

Of course it would be shit if he would go to Liverpool.

:nervous:

He's exactly what they need. Rafa's had a mental block when it comes to signing wingers over the past few years, which has been great. All their 08/09 team needed was the addition of some quality on the wings and they might have won it.

Of course, they then sold Alonso, but they also didn't address the issue on the flanks. Krasic would be perfect for them; he's quick, skillful, would slot straight into their first team and is already good enough.

I don't think it's impossible he could sign in January, either. I mean, the Europa League is hardly such a big prize that CSKA'll desperately keep hold of him, and of course winter is their end-of-season break - so when most of the big transfers in and out of the clubs are expected to take place.

CSKA arent in the Europa league.

Poor Ljajic. Alforone has no pity on him:lol:

He would definitely get games for them, and he is what they need, someone direct with an end product.

Some of the posts on that thread are hilarious btw.

What for, late night christmas shopping at Liverpool One?

We can't even afford the phonecall to Russia let alone buy this lad

Sir Alex has told Paul to get his balaclava ready, Gill has got the Bentley started and Evra is in the back reading the sat nav. Wayne is in the boot for tactical support should it kick off.

Seriously though. Where can this guy play? I was impressed with him when I saw him against us, but is he primarily a right winger? Or can he play on the other wing, or as an attacking midfielder?

Right wing or behind a/the striker(s). Given that we just signed Valencia, moves to Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool seem the most logical. Shame because he's a star player.

Do Chelsea need him? He'd be good for them, but they don't play with wingers. Zhirkov is already getting zhirked off because he's not playing as often as he should be. Krasic on the other flank (when they already have Joe Cole) seems very unlikely.

I suspect he'll go to either City or Liverpool. Given that Liverpool clearly do have money to spend (Maxi, anyone?) and he's not liable to cost a huge amount, I reckon they'll get him. He'll be a huge improvement on Kuyt on the right wing, that's for sure.

Comon gal, its his hair that impressed you.. :D

He can play RW and as an AM behind the strikers. Best at cutting in from the right. He doesn't predominantly play LW but he has switched flanks for Serbia games in the past.

Chelsea's latest performances have all been about width. I would not like him to go to Chelsea as I don't think he will play at all ala Ivanovic. Took him over a year to get a chance to prove himself.

By not a huge amount, what do you suspect that to be?

As Vuc and I have mentioned he can play behind the strikers. So he could find a role in a diamond formation, as well as offering Chelsea a lot more quality on the wing if they decide to change formation during a game, or in general. I've actually seen very little of him in the middle, but some. I'm not sure if he'd be slightly wasted there, or if its actually the position he could use his many facets to the best of his ability.

Their performances have been about the width of their fullbacks, though, like Ivanovic and Ashley Cole. Their midfield is very narrow.

And isn't his contract up fairly soon? I doubt he'll cost more then ten million.

If his contract is up soon, and what with Arshavin moving for a very reasonable price in the end, perhaps yes it'll be a price thats "value for money". But then City will start sniffing around and it'll be more like 20 million, no?

Which is why I said 'latest'. With 4-3-3 and width they have looked very dangerous, and Ancelotti will continue to use this, Zhirkov, Malouda and J.Cole have all played recently in this system. Its definitely width he is looking towards.

Prior to that the fullbacks were there main source of width, thats correct.

I wouldn't expect Krasic to go for less than 15 million Euros. However the contract is running out that is true, so he may well go for less.

Krasic: "Oh thank Manchester United, Mr Ferguson! I was on my way to that shite team, oh lord thank you for saving me, I will accept great cut in pay to play for the mighty Red Devils!"

Gill: "Er..you wanted 'paying'?"

Fergie: "Kick him out Paul, Paddy put yer foot down fella! Lets feck off quick...'paying' hah the fecking cheek of it!"

If they aren't asking for an astronomical figure, we should at least make an effort to sign - you never know with our level of support in those parts.

I hope we are the club after him, we need a goalscoring midfielder, what about a pre contract agreement to join in the summer. If we are looking tio improve the squad this lad should be on our list.

So far I'm only hearing good things about him, even after being linked with Liverpool. He can't be THAT good surely? One season wonder?
