United eyes on Krasic

So far I'm only hearing good things about him, even after being linked with Liverpool. He can't be THAT good surely? One season wonder?

(joint) second top scorer in the champions league despite playing for CSKA. The most dangerous right winger out there who isnt Ronaldo or Messi.

Valencia plays inside for Ecuador and is very effective which Fergie recently noted in an interview. Krasic could play in a top 3 too in Europe, talented player.- would like him and Dzeko on board. Wishful thinking.

Aye, same here. I'm sure we'd fit Krasic in somehow.

Surely we are not signing him.

Why not ? We can live in hope.

Agreed. I'd let go of Park.

If it is just to get money for selling a player on, that might not be a very wise move considering what people say - that he is here for the money he generates in Asia for us, why let go of a cash cow if it is money you are after?

There are other players that we could offload if it is just to get money to go buy Krasic or whomever - for instance poor Tosic, even if we take a loss, get whatever money we can, let him go play football some place and have a chance to be in some form for his country while we get a few pounds.

If it is just to make room, then no reason why we have to let go of anyone - they can just be made to rot in the reserves ... again like Tosic.

Either way I just don't see Krasic happening, not with Valencia around. He has become a fixture on the right.

He is more valuable than a cash cow. I just feel Krasic is a far more talented version of him. So I'd replace Park with him given the chance

True. But my wanting to let Park go for a talent like Krasic ain't just about money.

Park is has been too good a servant to do that to.

But Krasic can play on the left the way a Park can. Yet he has way more natural ability to him. So he'd be a nice option to have if we can't get any truly left footed gurus to fill the left wing for us.

In that case there's no way we'll sign him for various reasons...thatIdon'twanttogointobecauseitmeansIwillhavetocommitsuicideand

Rumour doing the rounds that Bayern are the new favourites to sign him. Guess he would be a good Ribery replacement.

Can you read?

This is the headline on bbc.com

Bayern Munich look set to beat Chelsea to the signature of CSKA Moscow's Serbian winger Milos Krasic.

I may have used the wrong word. I should have said they are leading the chase now.

Park is useful....
Yes. But player like Krasic can do the same work as him while possessing much more attacking talent than he does. That is the only type of player I'd replace a Park with

If a new winger is signed then we will have to move Giggs to the middle or send Obertan to loan.
If we get another quality winger Giggs' days on the wing would be well and truly dead. A thing that is long over due IMO. For we'd have benefited mote from him this season if he had been employed in the middle strictly. Though we can't complain with what we've managed to squeeze out of him from wide areas this term.

According to SPORTBILD.de, Krasic will only be signed, if Ribéry was to leave Bayern in the summer.

Krasic has a higher successful dribbling rate (53%), than Lionel Messi and managed to score 4 goals in 6 matches for CSKA in the Champions League.

His contract runs out in 2011 and CSKA are willing to sell, if a good offer comes in.

I disagree, I can't think of many wingers with the same workrate as Park. He reminds me alot of good old Di Livio. Pretty average when attacking but the first name to come in your mind when you need a winger capable to keep things tight. No wonder Pato did very little against us.

At 36 its time we start thinking of Giggs replacement. Someone who is capable to dominate the left winger at a regular basis. Nani is inconsistent and Obertan is just a youth.

I agree with what you've said about Park, shouldnt have mentioned Pato though as he was always dangerous on the ball and Park and Evra couldn't handle him at times.

And also Park played in the middle, battling it out with central midfielders. It was Fletcher on the left helping with Pato.

Watch Krasic closely then you wont stop at thinking. :D

He is very much like Angelo, it's true

I could have sworn that it was Fletcher making Pato's flank life hell...

We've been doing that since about 2003. Failing in all that period to truly find a proper left winger to replace Giggs. C. Ronaldo was the closest we got to replacing his influence on the wings. Yet we had to sell him and then bring Ryan out of wing retirement:(

Can Krasic play on the left and is he effective on the left? If he is another right winger only, then no thanks - we already have two.

Pato can be a hell of a lot more dangerous that he actually was. Park kept him in bay, something even the Italian media (Mediaset ie AC Milan's owners media) had noticed.

There is still space to bring in another winger. We shouldn't sell Park, he is one of our most consistent wingers in the team and can offer something that many of our current wingers can't.

Did you not watch the match or something?

Park was ahead of central midfield and the closest thing to supporting Rooney. Fletcher played from the left of midfield and in the second half when we were on top of Milan they couldnt handle him down that side.

Pato just came back from an injury, so he was not fully fit. Hence the answer to his mediocre performance. He will perform better in the second leg.

Krasic played 90 minutes as CSKA Moscow were demolished 3-0 by my hometown team, FC Dnipro, yesterday. Pavel Pashaev, a right-back playing at left-back for (I think?) the first time in his life kept him quiet all game long.

This is not really relevant to the Krasic transfer speculation, but I thought I'd give it a mention...:smirk:

Forget about Krasic, buy Pato for right wing, bench Valencia and use as impact sub, sell Nani, retire Giggs, release Park, loan Drenthe, have Obertan in reserves as backup

=Profit.

Fletch and Park marked Pato out of the game. That's how 4 - 5 - 1 works (defensively wise). The winger is assisted by both fullback and the extra central midfielder on that side.

United couldn't handle Milan forwards and were chasing shadows most of the first half. We were very fortunate to be in the game. Obviously the roles reversed in the second half when our defenders got a grip with Pato and Ronaldinho tiring. United's superior fitness told in the end.

I think that part of it, even more than Milan tiring is that most of their side lacks character when the chips are down. They really didnt look like anything was going to happen after United scored their third. Seedorf gave them a bolt of pace and class off the bench and once he scored, they didn't look that tired anymore. Despite being an older side(Milan duh), I feel that if United can score an early goal, Milan will hang their heads and not cause many problems for the rest of the game, however if they are able to stay in the game and even get a lead at some point it will more than strengthen their resolve, which is scary considering they showed on Tuesday that they have abundant attacking talent.
