United aiming to sell Harry Maguire next summer according to Jamie Jackson

Letting an £80m signing go for what will presumably be peanuts (comparatively) will be a big sign the board is fully behind Ten Hag.

We've spent big under all our managers, but contract renewals have always shown they value player value over creating the right culture and quality.

It would be a huge sign that the board actually watches the games, whenever Maguires in the team we look like leaking goals at the back.

Sometimes he's literally under no pressure and he gives the ball away.

Harry probably wants to go as well. Carve out a decent career at a mid table team and stop being a figure of fun. Suits everyone.

Nah. Much like Titus Bramble, people will love to see him make mistakes. He'll always be someone people like to take the piss out of.

I’m not sure that the Board would let him go for the sort of price that clubs would be willing to pay, they won’t want to have a big write off in the books.

Just as with Ryan Giggs and Mason Greenwood, I had kept an open mind regarding Maguires arrest etc in Greece the other year; he claimed he was innocent of any wrong doing and lashed out to protect his family. Fair enough. But now he admits he not only assaulted police officers but trid to bribe them too. He lied not only to the Greek authourities but to Manchester United and its supporters. For such reprehensible behaviour he should be sacked.

While people try and pretend he's always been dreadful, he did have a strong season and half or so for us. A few mistakes like every defender, but not the insane lowlights video of last year.
Something seemed to damage him from that whole incident.

The time I always realise it's time to get rid of a player is when the excuses of who they need alongside them / style of play etc have been exhausted.

When you see Eriksen, Antony, Casmiro and Martinez come in and play well within a month or 2 it seems even more stark.

Feel bad for him has had a torrid time and now the manager comes out and says he’ll be sold in the summer just as he’s about to join up to a World Cup squad. Probably be for the best but at least he tried hard if nothing else..

Min -Jae from Napoli would be my pick, he's going to be colossal.
Not followed their dealings too closely but by any measure Napoli are an absolute nightmare to deal with.

They only bought this guy this summer IIRC and we're also looking at getting their best striker who they've paid 70m for a short while ago. We won't be able to take two, so I'd focus on Osimhen

Did he admit to the allegations? Must have missed this.

Anyway this is good news, although not sure about the wisdom at leaking it to the press now - maybe to drum up some interest in the hope that they have decent showings at the World Cup?

I’ve long felt sympathy for both of them but was firmly of the opinion last night that I never want to see either in a United shirt again, hoping we’re planning to offload Donny as well who was at the same level of ineptitude.

There’s talk that Min-Jae has a release clause available to only non-Italian teams of around £40 million.

I'm quite concerned there's still a huge overhaul to be had and we probably won't have the budget for it.

AWB, Maguire, Fred, Ronaldo, VDB will likely be gone by the end of next summer, and we're expected to sign a new goalkeeper to replace De Gea also.

That's a right back, centre back, 2 midfielders, a striker and goalkeeper. And we'll raise almost nothing in sales. If we get fed up of Martial's injuries then there's another player that would need replacing also.

Hm, that's juicy and our marketing department would love another Korean star.

ETH is building the team he wants. He knows that Maguire and Fred don't fit into that team. DVB will probably leave too unless he comes out of hiding.

ETH just gets it. Comes in and exiles AWB immediately and says he is for sale. Drops Maguire to the bench as early as possible and then says he is for sale. The man knows what he is doing and what sort of player belongs at United.

Every new manager does it though. Not that I don't agree with him on those players.

Not true. All of our previous managers have signed/retained players that I did not agree with in the past. ETH is the first one where I’ve agreed with all the moves so far.

What do you mean not true? What I meant was that every manager does that kind of stuff - kicking out players that they think won't fit their playing style.

Did you agree with Ole when he kicked out the likes of Sanchez, Fellaini, Lukaku, etc. right away?

Well not surprising news at all.

It feels weird to have the club making decent, common sense decisions.

After so long doing the opposite, I keep waiting for the catch.

It's Jamie Jackson... I have better sources than him and I have feck all sources.

Bailly and Telles are coming back and should be shipped back out immediately. The total deadwood like those 2 have to be moved on.

Maguire has the most value and can fetch money that can be reinvested into the team immediately. It also allows EtH to reassess the captaincy and get house in order without Maguire and Ronaldo. Club leaders would be Bruno, David, Lisandro, Casemiro, and maybe Rashford or Eriksen or Varane. But those 4 guys - Bruno, DDG, Lisandro, Casemiro are head and shoulders above Maguire in all departments.

Good, no point keeping players who are not good enough to be here when we eventually reach the level that we should aspire to be at.

We will probably end up giving Maguire away for free for someone to be willing to cover his wages but it will still be good for the club.

Good he needs to go

Maybe an Everton/Westham/Aston Villa/Wolves type team?

Not sure of their styles but he'd suit a sit back and defend type

Harry and Potter is a match made in heaven. Potter is surely smirking right now.

Another trash signing attributable to Ole.

Add that to the pile of VdB, Telles, Ighalo, Sancho, Ronaldo, AWB, and Dan James.

This just gives a small idea of the damage that needs to be undone by ETH and we should give him as much time as he needs.

I think it’s best for both sides if he leaves. One bad side of this is that we will keep the worse CB in Lindelof, but it would be ideal if we can get rid of both.

I'm not surprised that we want to sell anyone, it's finding a buyer that always escape us.

Phil jones is somehow still at the club. Why no mention of selling him?
Is that a real question?

Because he has a massive contract, doesn't want to go and no sane club wants to buy him.
