UEFA Champions League Matchday 1 fixtures (18th - 19th Sep 2018) | Kick off @ 17:55 and 20:00 BST

Weak french league is big problem for PSG. Salah is one season wonder.

Scholes and Carrick were not "dependable workhorses".

Fletcher, Park, Brown, O'Shea? Carrick didn't have the status he had since his world class season in 12/13. Also the amount of work Rooney and Tevez put in was comparable to the pressing from the Liverpool forwards from today.

You don't have to see exact similarities in personnel or manager, just look at how both sides are the most frightening counter-attacking sides in Europe of their times. Also how both are a collection of up-and coming stars bought from all over Europe, but no galactico project.

Even more annoyingly, Liverpool have actually had a very decent transfer strategy over the last few years. They've spent well both on the expensive and cheap brackets of the market. It's quite frustrating.

Agreed, they've had more hits than misses in recent years - whilst also promoting youth like TAA and Gomez at the right time.

PSG are complete shambles. They have zero attacking plan. It's just give the ball to Neymar or Mbappe and hope they do some magic.

Macca is so over the top. Like he’s never seen Neymar, MBappe or Cavani tearing good teams apart before.

I'm holding some hope on Fabinho turning out to be a dud. That'd make me feel a bit better.

Pretty obvious they're not used to defending against any kind of decent opposition. Huge gaps all over the pitch.

Can't believe how poor PSG have been, just completely look leagues below Liverpool. Suppose it's early days in the competition, plenty of time to improve and I'm sure they will, but bloody hell.

Rabiot and Muneir have that winning mentality. The others not so much.

PSG are wank. Almost worse than us when it comes to what to do in the final third

Kimpembe has been solid, one of the few bright spots for PSG.

PSG aren't just bad, they are atrocious. No midfield, no attack and a shacky defence. Individually those players look bang average. They misplace simple passes more often than not. They have no defensive shape, which gives Pool all the time in the world on the ball. There is no movement off the ball, no intensity, they dont even seem to try to play football. They have absolutely nothing going for them. Cavani is a poor fecker, because nobody around him is pressing. Rabiot is not great, but he is the only player that tries to be available.

Would you agree that because PSG face such weak opposition every week in Ligue 1 that it hinders you when it comes to the big games in the Champions League?
No, we're nowhere ready yet this season, we should be much stronger later on.

Not replacing Matuidi + Motta and missk Verratti through suspension doesn't help. It has a lot tl do with FFP although it could've been handled better.

I don't blame L1 for disappointing perxormances in CL. I think it has more to do with a combination of bad luck, still carrying an inferiority complex towards the best clubs and the overwhelming pressure put on winning the CL.

Yeah ridicilous isn't it. Talk about value in the market.

But perhaps it's Klopp's coaching that has completely elevated his level.
I’m a hull ST holder and he and Maguire were always gonna make a step up. Honestly though, had no idea he would go up to this level

PSG maybe just aren’t that good.

They have great players but a shitty team.
