UEFA Champions League Matchday 1 fixtures (18th - 19th Sep 2018) | Kick off @ 17:55 and 20:00 BST

Yeah, good luck with that. Not sure Tuschel has even the authority in the dressing room to address that. It's the problem with player-power. If it's tactical just to set up the counter attack, then it's a poor choice when the midfield is so overrun.
He doesn't have. If they aren't gonna do it at Anfield, there is no way they do it in other games

Liverpool are the most intriguing side in europe at the moment. It feels like they are in a cycle like Utd was from 06-09. Super fast counter attacks by some of the best players in the world, added with dependable workhorses in midfield and some really good players in defence and goal.
We'll see. United actually won things in that cycle. Jury is still out.

Neymar seems to have stopped working hard since he went to PSG.

He needs to move back to a big league.

He wasn't this lazy at Barcelona.

Yeah except we won trophies.

They don't win.

But yeah same cycle.

PSG are better than people are giving them credit for. Liverpool are just playing like they have been lately (full of energy and attacking intent).

Two different styles and very interesting to watch.

Why the feck am I putting myself through watching Dortmund v Brugge? Every week I watch Dortmund play thinking now they will look back to their old best but again and again it's shite performance after shite performance.

It's still 0-0, but Brugge have had the best chances and Dortmund's offense looks absolutely toothless. Reus, Sancho, Wolf, Gotze have all been utterly poor and haven't looked like creating anything. Watching Gotze play now just looks sad, he is 10% of the player he was in 2013; Reus has also been pretty shite this season as well.

Ahh imagine us against this PSG. We'd park the bus and it would be waves of PSG attacks after attacks. Fairplay to Liverpool and Klopp.

It is quite clearly a tactic for PSG to leave the three up. Lots of teams do this. Barcelona did it with MSN albeit Messi would receive the ball deeper.

The issue isn't there lack of defending - It's the total disconnect with the midfield.

He has always been that lazy. If he gets the ball in attacking situations, he's a real livewire but he'll never chase the ball around trying to win it back. That's always been his game, nothing new here.

Neymar is proper shite. The fact I can't even enjoy it since it is Liverpool on the other side makes this game extra annoying.

Their midfield is in shambles, because of FFP, they couldn't go after a proper DM and so they're trying to convert Marquinhos to that role who, fair play to him, he's doing his best but it's not his role. A guy like Veratti, even if he can be inconsistent, would make a big difference tonight.

I'm not saying he was Cavani, but he wasn't this lazy.

When Barcelona were struggling in Enrique's last season, they switched to a 3 back and Neymar was a wing-back for a few games.

He was arguably their hardest working player.

Would you still have them in that category of “best of the rest” with Athletico, City etc, or would you say they’ve fallen below that rank now? I will confess it’s been quite some time since I’ve watched them.

Given that we would be at Old Trafford that wouldn't be the case unless we were up ahead so you are wrong.

Their CB pairing isn't that good. The full backs have potential, but are not as consistent. Their keeper is dodgier. They don't have a playmaker in the middle, or a Ronaldo on the rings (Salah isn't that good).

And oh, a far inferior manager who doesn't really have a good record at winning - which is why they keep coming close but don't get over the line.

But yes, I can see a few similarities.

Scholes and Carrick were not "dependable workhorses".

Well no. At barcelona he was very active and did whatever the team needed from him

At PSG he's playing up to his worst habits with nobody able to call him out on it

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Neymar play well...I’ve just seen him do the odd trick, and lose the ball a lot...
