To be fair that argument is looking increasingly worthless, as even in second place they're 16 points behind Bayern (in February, just pause for a moment and consider how awful that is for the Bundesliga). But they're in front of Dortmund which many would still consider a strong opponent. Perhaps they're just garbage in the big games.
