He's not injured. He didn't make the cut because he'd pulled out of the squad earlier in the season, citing a desire to work on his CB training at Spurs (and rather than play in the RB slot). Southgate took against this, despite the fact that Dier had featured in five of the qualifying games for the Euros, including both playoff matches against Croatia.
So basically Southgate cut off his nose to spite his face. Dier should have been picked.
I absolutely love this Swedish team. Basically out of it with two games left in the qualifiers, needed to win both games and some results in other games had to go right as well. Just a few minutes from being knocked out by France in the qualifiers and trailing 2-0 from the first game. Now this with a man down for the majority of the game.

Chabolah really needs to start imposing himself in the middle, he's not really doing a whole lot and Portugal are finding it far too easy to pick the ball up and turn in the middle.
Portugal look really good going forward. England's midfield is wide open so far.

great game, both team playing well....shame for Stones injury, every time portugal players press england backline they have to kick it because they are poor on the ball + both cb arent exactly good defenders, shame because this team has/had a big chance of winning this tournament.
