Denmark shown how good they are second half after a terrible first half. Personally have them as being very close to Germany. Excellent team.

That is a very odd line-up.
Funny thing,i know more players from Germany then from my own country,on other hand thats a good thing, because i expect from those whom i know to suck balls.

Gotta say Steffen Freund is a nice change from the usual dumb expert suspects in Germany. Calm and prepared comments, digging in a bit with additional questions.

Some of them play together for some years now. Bittencourt has 16 - and Leitner already 23 U-21 matches.
And Podolski has 125 caps...

In stark contrast to club football, Leitner is one of the teams top performers and co captain. It is there, where he shows most of his potential as a footballer. Geis´ main competition is Can and the latter played an inpressive season.
Hofmann is Germany´s sole clear cut striker and probably the answer to the usually hard defense of Serbia.
Younes is probably the most debatable position here. I would have liked to see Arnold or Bittencourt there instead.

Serbia are still looking dangerous on the counter, Germany struggling more rhan any thought they would.

Dont think Serbia will get out of the group,you can see that manager was coaching in Serbian league before,where they would play 7-3-0 if they could fit 7 players in back line. What a coward of manager,being counter attacked from passive play,making 2 subs in extra time while Germany were man down for last 20 minutes...
Can's control of the ball is outstanding. The rest of that German team (barring the goalies) is so meh its unbelievable.

It was a poor team selection, too. Hofmann and Younes are just 2nd division players. Leitner hasn´t played in months at Stuttgart (coach´s decision). Meyer and Hoffmann were a lazy mess. Next game

Also I don´t understand that the Olympics have such a low acceptance among players. Germany could have nominated Durm, Rudiger, Mustafi, Draxler, Gotze from the squad that played against Gibraltar.
Yes but Volland's first touch isn't great for a 'technical' player. Might just be a bad day for him today. Max Meyer is the one that surprised me, with all the hype he's just a small kid running into big kids while thinking he's Messi. Bittencourt I've seen before and liked in patches but he's not a 90 minutes player. Gnabry is ok, nothing to write home about. In fact, I don't see ANYTHING in this German squad to make me sit up and notice them. Can and Stegen can't do it all on their own.
Well according to German hype machine this squad is more talented than the ridiculous 2009 U21 squad that featured Ozil, Khedira, Hummels, Howedes, Neuer, Boateng, Schmelzer, Castro, Aogo, Beck and Marin. Additionally Johnson, Dejagah and Boenisch ended up playing for the USA, Iran and Poland at senior level. Johnson is a huge loss. Stupid Klinsmann. He would be the starting RB for Germany now.
There is not one player on the current squad that would have started on the 2009 team.
I agree Can and Ter Stegen are the standouts. The tactics were also piss-poor. No movement in midfield and a huge hole in the middle of the field the whole game. No HT adjustment. Once the lazy out of form elements were taken out of the game it got slightly better.
Yeah it looked a bit nervous from us in the first half. Much better in the second with a few really good passages of play. The final pass seems to be missing though.
I'd expect some changes before the next game. Sisto to start instead of Falk. Honestly, I was a bit surprised to see Falk start. Sisto has been a revelation in the Superliga this season whereas Falk does a lot of good stuff but lacks end product. I hope AC is alright.
Sisto had an absolute shocker until the goal, incredibly bad. Looked a proper good player after the goal though and has impressed me for midtjylland when I've seen them.
Yep he needed that goal for his confidence it seemed.

Why would you not play either Arnold (who had a brilliant season for Wolfsburg) or Geis (who is always excellent when I see him play). Odd.
