Good win but feck me, England U21's are eerily similar to early season United. Only 3 shots on target but plenty of possession to bore the opposition.
That would open the group up a bit!
Cheers!We won!
He shouldve started ahead of Carroll in midfield against Portugal, he could've given Carvalho a harder time physically.
I bet it will be as dull as Southgate tactical setup. I can see a 0-0 or 1-0 to the italians
Are you really blaming England for that dull affair? Sweden played for the draw with 10 men behind the ball for most of the game!
Nice one.
Probably true. I do see Lingard having a career at a PL club. Not special by any stretch of imagination, so he might almost never make it at a midtable club let alone a top club in the PL, but definitely got a few good attributes to make it at a number of lowly clubs in the league.Other than Kane, of that starting 11, I don't see anyone having a career at a top 8 team.

Do you mean last pre-season, after which he got injured in the first game of the season? We have let Lingard stagnate for too long at United, he should have gotten his chance after that terrific pre season some years ago. Not knee jerking but he's a very good talent, hope a club come and get him.
have not taken their chance in the hole.

No, I think it was in SAF last season. In Afrika. Or Moyes.Do you mean last pre-season, after which he got injured in the first game of the season?
He sure proved that poster wrong! One good strike that the keeper should have saved.
Oh I'm not doubting he would've still got the better of RLC, hes an absolute monster but come on, you don't think he would've put up more of a fight than Carrol?Yeah i bet he would struggle with that. Specially after outmuscling Matic in portuguese league matches

I was just messing with you. And you are right obviously. My biggest criticism of England against Portugal was your midfield and Southgate´s defensive tactical setup.

What has happened to Bruma? He was supposed to be the next big thing at one point.
Ah you got me.
I'll agree with you there. I think he was relying too heavily on Chabolah to break up everything in the Portuguese final third, you were too easily able to get hold of the ball there so could control the middle of the pitch. Chabolah had a poor game then and another one tonight, unfortunately we don't really have another option for defensive midfield.
He was the outstanding player during the summer of Moyes, though that was a particularly poor tour from the team as a whole. Moyes should've used him during the season on the back of that pre-season, but that's about the least of the things Moyes did wrongNo, I think it was in SAF last season. In Afrika. Or Moyes.
Agreed Chabolah hasn't shown anything in the last two games to start against Otaly. The problem being is if he feels he can trust RLC or Hughes in the deeper role.Southgate is loyal to his players that helped the team qualify. I understand that but if we are going to progress I feel that we need Loftus-Cheek in the team. Chabolah won the U17 European Championship with England when he was only 15 but he just hasn't kicked on and is most likely looking at a career in The Championship. Personally I would go with RLC, Hughes and Ward-Prowse but it looks like Southgate likes RLC further forward so he will like replace Carroll who is a major disappointment.
@Sly
Cheers for the info.
Unless your lads pull their socks up looks like your worst dreams might be coming true - Italy started wellI hope i´m proven wrong. Even in the Figo, Rui Costa U21 generation where we had an amazing team, we lost to them 1-0 in extra time in the U21 European Championship final. We are cursed i say.
On a funny note we beat them last week on senior level without Ronaldo and with a goal from freakin Éder

Yep shoulda really put that one away. The replay showed how far off it was too … ouch!Yep, it´s the usual with Italy. We just missed the easiest chance of the match
