Interesting. I don't know about the defenders, but Clasie has received a lot of praise this season. He's also been dubbed as the 'Dutch Xavi' by Goal. That doesn't say a lot, but nevertheless, it does indicate somewhat what we might expect from him if he were to join us.
Also, Van Gaal loves Dutch players so I guess the rumour isn't complete bullshit.
Bit cheeky if he's going to nab players he's taking to the World Cup. Their current clubs must feel a bit miffed at that. How can you stop a manager of another club from speaking to your players if they're stuck in the same hotel for a month?
Would like for us to sign Clasie.

Having not heard of this Clasie lad before opening this thread 30 seconds ago, I approve of signing him. Great technique and potential imo.
Completely agreed on all fronts, although I'm not sure how great his technique is, I just know that he's solid.
He's going to fill our squad with Dutch dross at this rate. There's not many top level Dutch players knocking about that aren't already at top clubs. He tried doing this at Barca and it didn't go down well.
My memory's far from perfect, but I think there was a Dutch newb who recently said he wasn't impressed with Clasie, or any other Dutch midfield talents in particular.
We have rubbish talents right now and have been going through a period where we have produced nothing players... the complete opposite to Belgium and Germany. They are where we were ten years ago when we had Robben, Sneijder, RvP and VdV coming through.
Maher was supposed to be the dogs bollocks a year ago, look at him now... chosen to be the flop of the season.
I'd be worried if van Gaal is looking into the (muddy, quicksand-like) pool of Dutch talents... but I wouldn't be surprised.

This one seems quite promising, the DM have been spot on with United stories so far. The fact they have said there will be a conference at 1pm between investors leaves me to believe it will be announced this morning.

Difference with Van Gaal, is if he makes a weird decision, I think players/fans will give him more leeway as he obviously has experience at this level. Moyes didn´t so was constantly second guessed
