Who said he's due back by August? I thought he won't be back until September? Either way, buying players with knee injures is risky and he will miss all of the pre-season so it will take a while for him to fully settle for the new season. It's not ideal at all.
Pjanic and De Rossi more important in midfield alone. Unless you call everyone in the starting 11 as a key player, but Benatia, De Rossi, Pjanic and Totti are all more important to them. Therefore no, he played really well, but he wasn't a key player.
Those cnuts might reject us and sell him to Spurs in a week.
Last I read on him is he's ahead of schedule and should be back in August, but originally it was supposed to be 4-5 months so its not too far ahead of schedule. No it's not ideal but he'd be a huge improvement on what we have so I wouldn't complain too much, considering we got Fellaini last year
except it's 11 weeks that there are no games in!
And they have plenty of class even with him out!
Strootman on crutches will probably do better than Fellaini
If we wanted someone on crutches we could get Hargreaves on a free.
What injury does he have and what is the extent of it.
Tore knee ligaments but not his ACL so not as serious, but still pretty serious. (at least I think that's what it was)
Edit: Actually apparently it was his ACL, ,weird that he should be back so quickly, probably wasn't a complete tear then. I thought usually it took like 9 months or so to recover from that.
