What does it matter if it's official or not? It's not like one of those transfer sagas where we have to fear that another club might poach him. The only club that were seriously interested in him were the Spurs and he ditched them as soon as he heard about our interest. He is focusing on the WC and has us surely given a transfer list.

The thing is, JT hasn't got much left in him and if Cahill gets injured they will have few top class options there. They will be needing a top class CB very soon imo - I'm not saying Luiz is but having him there would help with any injuries etc.
Zouma is a massive prospect.

Mourinho, it would appear, doesn't have plans for Luiz anyway. Chelsea have seemingly looked to get rid of him since last summer, as well as Mata.

I just think keeping hold of Luiz while they try to bleed Zouma into the first team would be a good idea considering JT/Cahill were massive in the heart of Chelsea's defence last season
