Not a chance, Hoek has been with Van Gaal since his days at Ajax, followed him to Barca, Bayern, Netherlands and now probably us. He's regarded as one of the best, if not the best, goalkeeping coaches in football.
I think that one went over your head.

He was clearly the secret behind their success.
It's gonna be important for United to eliminate previous season's countless mistakes of communication between the formations, especially defense and midfield.

Van Gaal is on a big scale operating manager. He'll definitely use every asset he has. His record shows that quite clearly he has his trusted men but never ignore the previous team's coaches & assistants.

Best job in the world. I want to be a video analyst.
Now i feel stupid but ive never known any video analyst in football. Did we have one under Fergie?

I was genuinely asking if it was a serious question, I decided not to post a sarcastic comment for you. :)

I would think every team has a video analyst to a certain extent, sometimes it might be the manager himself, and perhaps other managers have someone who does it as their main role.

Martinez (according to the book "the numbers game") has a room at his house where he watches videos of his team, and of the opponents to assess his side, and to find holes in the opposition.

I think I remember reading that Ferguson had somebody who done this too, I could be wrong though because he might have done it himself.

I don't understand why we can't just have 2 assistants. There's no need for either of Giggs/Kluivert to be out of a job. Fergie operated with 2 assistants in Phelan and Rene for years.

You are forgetting that Phelan did most of Ferguson's job (according to himself)

Le Tessier, Keown, etc. It's incredible how many football people come out with nonsense regarding us and know feck all about being involved with Manchester United.
Well we have been so used to having things done behind the scene which are way way more appropriate. It just goes to show how Sir Alex took good care of everything. If we were still under SAF, Rio would have been called into the office at any stage when Sir Alex felt appropriate and broke the news to him, whilst at the same time, suggested there are clubs he might wish to move to and even he would pick up the phone to make some connection etc. You can see how the club has turned out for the worse without the big man around. :(

Thing is, that tweet makes a bit more sense, news is usually embargoed until 10/10:30. It's most likely about the meeting today and Giggs taking up the coaching role.
Or Giggsy interviewing LvG to check out if he has United quality :)

RAWK has reacted to the latest in our fleet in the usual way: with Scouse humour, death threats, email campaigns, effigy burnings of the Red Baron etc etc.

What does a Video Analyst do?
He'll run through everything our players do with a fine-toothed comb and basically look for faults and weaknesses (positional, technical or tactical) that will be brought to the attention of LvG and his coaches and eventually the player to work on. He'll do the same when analysing our future opponents as he picks through hours of footage to grasp patterns and routines of individuals or the team as a whole to exploit.

The better the analyst (his eye for faults and weaknesses), the more intel is gathered.

AVB was one for Mourinho at Chelsea, and he was pretty exceptional by all accounts. He probably had a fancier job title than 'video analyst' though.

Seems like a big job for just one man, surely he has his own team I assume?

Yeah, I should think that the better you are at the job, the more you'd fancy yourself to take a pop at managing in your own right.

I don't know if they delegate, tbh. I assume it's the same thing as editorial work (chopping clips etc) and if so, some of them probably have teams they tell to look for specific things and bring to them to compile a more complete picture of whatever it is they're trying to find out.

Could be completely wrong on that, mind.
