So Luke Shaw favourited this Tweet:

Nice to see Token in his background wallpaper!

Shares finished 10% up. Strange nothing really new has happened.

It's not always illegal. Investors are allowed to be briefed about upcoming deals that are expected to be finalised, sponsorships, changes at boardroom levels, key staff, and even sales. They will also have to brief the press but can embargo it. Not saying that this is what has happened here. Also things get leaked. It's only when an individual or small group have the knowledge without it being available to all investors and the public (press) that insider trading has occurred. It's probably another sponsorship deal we're working on. A rise in share value because of information is not insider trading.

If price of stock goes uo, the LAST thing it eould be is transfer...unless its a big transfer OUT. Any transfer would temporarily reduce value of the company. Investors arent transfer muppets like us. They hate them

It can only refer to money coming in, it must be something to do with nike. Has their stock done anything interesting recently?

Slight rise during trading of 1%ish nothing dramatic. Mostly to do with the USA track and field deal announced yesterday.

Wont be that then. Looks like it's just because of that group that bought a bunch of shares.

How boring

Is twitter not wanted in the mains?
I am new here, but in the newbie section there was a twitter page that was always updated daily with United tweets. I know most was garbage, but I still liked to hear the gossip.
The twitter page on this section seems very slow. Tweets on the last page from Jan etc?
Am I missing one?

Maybe because 99% of stuff on Twitter is absolute bollocks that doesn't warrant a discussion.

Can't see it. I'm not sure whether I want him to stay or not. He can be largely effective or can be a lanky donkey at times. If he wasn't a Manchester lad, I'd say there'd have been some more calls to see him out.

Still, I think he'll stay.

First Chris Smalling, now Danny Welbeck?

Yeah no chance is that true. Welbeck wouldn't get in the team at a better or similar club and he gets loads of games as it is and has a big future. And he's homegrown and loves the club.

Seriously? He could definitely do a job upfront for Spurs, Arsenal and possibly Chelsea, I don't rate any of their strikers.

So, if reports are to be believed, Moyes has managed to irritate/alienate three of his four strikers: Van Persie, Welbeck and Hernandez...

...guess its fine so long as Wayne Rooney is happy though, right Moyesy?

Welbeck, a certainty for England’s World Cup squad, is keen to stay at United,

Aye, sure alienated alright.

Contrasting reporting right? The Sun says Welbeck wants out whereas The Mirror is saying he could be tempted to leave.

Either way, I'd be disappointed if he was sold. Very disappointed.

Surely him getting fined for having a night out has something to do with it. I think a warning would have been sufficient.

But I do believe Moyes has something to do with this.

Yeah but we're bigger then the first two easily. Chelsea this summer will get costa probably so there's that.

If we imagine the squad face-lift going the way most of us probably believe it might then how much game time is Welbeck going to be guaranteed anyway? If there's truth to that £20m story I'd bite Tottenham's hand off. £20m for a squad player who baring an injury crisis will probably have a diminished role next year compared to this, which was less than the year before that - it's a compelling sale.

Having said that it's Levy so we should take him to deadline and squeeze an extra £8m out of him.

Jesus who else wants out hopefully theres no truth in this.

If it is true along with the reports of loads of other players looking out, its got to the point were we may as well sell our entire first team squad bar Fellaini and sign evertons minus Mc Carthy.

At least then it will definitely be Moyes players and team, and when we finish 6th-7th we can't complain.

I doubt the story is true. If their is some truth to it, I rather we loan Welbeck to tottenaham and get him game time like what Chelsea has done to lukaku. This is done to give him consistent game time and help him develop as a striker, rather than playing him all over the place like what we have done to Kagawa. Once Van Persie retires, he can come back and fill his boot when he has established himself as a striker.

Welbeck has been a productive member for United and has been consistently used for our big games, while also showing some noteworthy performances against the lesser opposition. As a reason, I can not see why United would sell Welbeck unless he wants more gametime as a striker. My hypothesis is, that watching sturiddge who was considered his lesser two years ago improved significantly because of consistent game time has made Welbeck question his development at United. If United are not willing to develop a young striker like Liverpool done with sturridge, maybe for his career it is better to seek a team like Tottenham, Arsenal or Everton who could do just that to his career. It would be a great move for Welbeck, but like Chelsea with Sturidge, a bad move for United. In particular when Welbeck and Rooney seems to be our only productive strikers under Moyes so far.
