Ah, don't start with this shit this year. The club has been acting billy big bollocks on this all season.

Young lads in going on night out SHOCKER!

Seems like the press would only be happy if the lads revealed they were being treated for depression. They had a crap night on Wednesday and tried to have a drink or two to forget about it. They wont be the first or the last. Yet somehow its news.

Really..?

To be fair, which elite players will want to: a) play for Moyes and b) play without the Champions League?

Plenty. Pay him and his agent lots of money. It works for smaller clubs with smaller stadia, less prestige and less talent to begin with.

At least United have realised there's a snowball's chance in hell of Kroos joining us now, rather than not realising it until late August. If we abandon all the obviously unobtainable targets now, and instead focus on those that might realistically want to come, we could actually get some business done this summer.

Good way of looking at it.

I hope we learned from the previous summer that there's a glaring need to sign functionally efficient players who will fill much needed roles in the starting X1 than someone with the "elite", "world class" or "superstar" tag. We are beginning to seem like the guy that makes a move in chess and pounds the piece on the board just to convey that he's made a move.

I'd be happier Moyes goes after players who are available and meet our needs early in the window rather than run around Kroos, Fabregas etc with his dick in his hands all summer long.

"buying any elite class player is particularly easy"
What do you want us to say? this?
I'd rather we weren't preparing the excuses already in April, mainly. You also missed off "due to the current market place", which happens to be the key part of the quote. In other words, no it's not just a statement of the obvious, it's saying it's harder than normal because of the World Cup/other clubs with lots of money/our lack of champions league football/David Moyes. Delete as appropriate.

They've been moaning about the inflated market for years. Ever since City pushed it through the roof. Nothing new here.

Same guy, should we be elated? deflated? There's no real thread here.

I mean, if we were to get rid of Young and got Cuadrado, it would be an upgrade (not that it's that difficult). I wouldn't be elated, but he would provide a bit more substance along with his pace. He will never reach Hazard levels to put it one way.

Then again, even Gervinho is doing well in Serie A. One thing I would say about Cuadrado, is that he would fit our winger system (or a more traditional winger system) quite well. He isn't a Lamela or a Gervinho who are more wide forwards if you like. Would be a good addition to our squad, and would probably start most games given our current options.

Why's everyone taking that tweet seriously? Jamie Jackson is hardly the most reliable journalist out there, if James Ducker and Mark Ogden start reporting the same thing then I'll start to worry.

Of course the transfer market is tough, that goes without saying and without CL football to offer then it will make harder, but I don't see us having another terrible window.

It is new, because we don't have Sir Alex Ferguson as our supreme overlord any more and can no longer rely on the carrot of the champions league to bring players in. We either hope they join us based on reputation alone, or pay the going rate (or more). Or just not sign who we want. If they hadn't been banging on about signing the very best all year they might not have to prepare the excuses so early.

It wouldn't even bother me as much if Moyes hadn't been running his mouth all year about how the best players in Europe still want to join us. Shut up and go about your business quietly. Actions louder than words and all that.

This +all the 1's

I wouldn't trust Jamie Jackson, he's bit of an idiot. The Glazers have this season shown their willingness to spend, I'd pretty surprised if we don't spend a very large amount this season. Glazers are the ones who will be hit the most if we have one more season like this.

Well it's gone from: "The best players all want to play for Manchester United. I get calls every day. Kroos snapchats me wearing a United shirt", to "Don't get your hopes up - no-one wants to come here".

Paraphrasing, of course.

Why are people talking about that quote still? Whoever W3105 is, they're either WUM-ing or ignorant.

United aren't briefing' the W3105 user has just taken a line from a journalist. That is the journalist's opinion. He wasn't quoting United or anything. It's a total non-story. Like 99.9% of Twitter.

How fast is Lallana? A pacey/skillful winger would be better, no?

He'd just be a squad player at best. He's got average pace, and he's a good player, but all of our wingers bar Young are better pretty much and would offer more.

You hardly think the likes of Valencia, Zaha and Nani are better? Lallana has been one of the best midfielder's in the league this season.

I think if Lallana was playing for us he wouldn't be one of the best midfielders in the league this season. Doubt he would have made much difference, all our outfield players are playing sub-par this year.

I don't think Lallana would add anything to our team. We already have similar but better players in Mata, Januzaj and Kagawa. It would be foolish to spend money on another player who won't really have any effect on how we perform. We need to aspire to sign players on the same level as the top players around Europe like Silva, Aguero, Hazard, Costa and not mid-table quality players who may be good cover for the first team at best.
