I'm sure they're mature enough not to let past indiscretions get in the way of their professional relationship if Cesc sign for Chelsea. eg. Eto'o had a couple of rows vs Mourinho and Chelsea when he was at Barcelona but they got along fine at Internazionale.

True, though I think if there is an issue here, it's not personal, more Mourinho doesn't want this type of player.

Yeah seems that way to me too. Although he has used players similar to Cesc in the past so the possibility can't be ruled out. A very good comparison would be to Deco at Porto. Plus it seems like Jose wants to transition into a 3 in midfield like they previously had in Makelele, Essien, Lampard. In that sort of setup Fabregas would be a very good replacement for Lampard.

L'equipe is a crap journal, they know nothing, they lie like no one.

L'Equipe was an example. Cavani interest was reported by everyone at the time.

The point stands that if our targets have changed as a result of a new manager then that doesnt mean the previous links werent accurate at the time.

You're right, but i really doubt about the Cavani thing.

As long as Suarez doesn't come to us, I don't much care where he ends up. I'd genuinely give up on United if we were to sign him; what a show of disrespect & disregard for Evra & other black professionals that would be.

You'd stop supporting United over signing a player? Or was it a throw-away comment?

Yes, as melodramatic as that seems, I would; I'd no longer recognise the club I love & support. To me, signing someone whose supposed will-to-win condones racial abuse of fellow human beings is too high a price to pay for (assumed) success. I'd lose all faith in the club.

TBH as a black person, I would think about it.

Perhaps it's easier for me as I'm white, but if the situation was reversed, I really wouldn't be affected, I'm sure you have all made 100 mistakes, what's done is done. I'd rather not have him here but seems strange to me to go that level..

I can understand that, that wouldn't be so much about one signing though, more what he represented, anyway it's moot as he's more likely to end up in Italy that United because of the past, and despite his talent, I wouldn't opt for him to be here, but he's a human being who made a mistake, but I can understand your points.

Don't worry. As long as Fergie's around we won't sign Suarez. :)

I wouldn't stop supporting United, but I would think about it, I wouldn't go through with it. However it would piss me off and I would loose some respect from the club, given the guy wasn't even remorseful and felt as if he did absolutely nothing wrong.

With all respect, I find it hard to believe that some people racially abuse others 'by mistake'. In Suarez's case, we're not talking about an arguably understandable error (like using the outdated term 'coloured', for instance).

A human being who made a mistake for 6 or 7 times. Yeah, right!

Fully understand and I'd probably be more similar to that.

Understood, I don't want to drag it onto a Suarez moral debate but I was intrigued to see your reasoning. Would you want have the same reservations regarding perhaps someone who openly slurred Homosexuals? Just out of interest mate...

Yeah, mate, definitely. Some things are more important than football, IMO.

Nonsense!

I can understand that completely, most people I find that take your view are very selective of what they include as acceptable or not acceptable, but it's good to see that if you feel X shouldn't be allowed then neither should Y, whereas in reality I think people let their own opinions/emotions decides what's more/less serious.

Its bullshit anyway, which proves the Journos are absolutely full of shite. As if that wasn't apparent already.

However, if it were to happen, I would not stop supporting per se, but I would seriously question the club and my commitment.

I don't want to see Suarez any where near our club, one mistake can be forgiven but the countless others where he tried taking chunks out of players on top of his racial slur towards Evra wouldn't sit too well with me.

Doesnt sound like he has a lot of options. Not wanted by Barca evidently.
Psg will take him, if not, one of the english clubs will eventually take him. Everyone will not get their top target and fabregas will may as well be second choice for us (or maybe anyone else). I think even tottenham have a chance to get him. That would probably be a big feck you on the faces of arsenal fans.

Liverpool aren't hanging about are they?

Adding depth to their squad, moreno is the only great player they have been linked with. I like his style. They will buy lallana, can, moreno, lambert which arent signings that will send shivers through the premier league. I would be happy if they get these 4 and dont add further. I think teams had started to know how to play liverpool at end of the season. With european commitments and a worse injury season they could well have a poorer season. If they loose suarez (well real will get him sooner or later) then they will have a huge void to fill. Money doesnt replace the player as we found out with spurs.

Don't care about Can... decent player, but far from top class. Will give them squad depth, but I thought the same about Luis Alberto last year and he showed nothing. Can's still very young though, will be interesting to see how he develops under Brenton. Moreno will be a top signing though.

Even if the quality of player Liverpool are acquiring isn't very high, you can't help but feel frustrated and perplexed by how they are able to complete a number of deals before a World Cup and in contrast United's transfer window is starting to feel eerily similar to last summer.

The only way I'd support us signing Suarez would be if we immediately loaned him out on a weekly basis to whichever team Liverpool were playing in what would be the single biggest trolling effort in history.

If United were looking a player like Ricky Lambert I'm sure we could've managed it. Thankfully we aren't.

Müller: "Bayern, do you want me?"
Bayern: "Yes."
Müller: "Great, see you at training."

Exactly, didn't Muller just a few weeks ago during the Kroos stories say he was happy at Bayern and wouldn't be leaving?
