Has a mixed record, he unearthed some of the arsenal team with wenger. He also bought luis suarez for liverpool, modric,berbatov and bale for spurs. But he has flops like andy caroll(i think he was king kenny signing though), huelro gomes, bently, assou ekotto,doni, coates, charlie adam. I would want a better director of football, may be frank rijkard or someone good from a european club with better success rate.

Daniel comoli on fm 2014 only has 15 in judging potential and 15 in judging current ability so he sucks :wenger:.
 
I wonder if Ed is struggling to get his foot in the door at some of these clubs and therefore needs an experienced transfer operator. Obviously Commoli does not have a 100% hit record to say the least. But he knows his way around the market.

Tier 2 though, the players are 28 and 29 respectively. Putting to one side Godins important goals over the last couple of weeks he isn't actually that great. Juanfran has been brilliant at times but I wonder if the investment in an older player is what we need at this time.

I think Godin would be a nice fit here as our main CB, providing toughness and leadership with Evans or Smalling starting with him, then maybe in 2-3 years Godin can be usurped by a still only 24-25 year old Phil Jones.
 
This is why the delays in the appointment of van Gaal were absolutely fecking ridiculous. Why the ruddy flip did we have to wait until after the end of the season? Wasn't the whole point of firing Moyes when we did that it'd give the new guy time to come in and get things sorted out early and get out of the blocks in the summer?

Instead we delayed and delayed for feck knows what reason and appointed someone almost literally five minutes before they were going away and virtually out of the loop until the middle of July.

What difference would making the announcement earlier have made? He still can't work for us until his contract with Holland is finished can he?

IMO, it would be better to just have all relevant tweets reproduced on the RedCafe Twitter feed and then that feed also displayed on the Home Page....

I have mixed feelings about those tweets, while i don't really care about Woodward future. I think that it's weird to see someone who seems serious, venting like that on the internet, what happened ? why today ?
 
I knew Fergie was a bit senile but had no idea he a multiple personality disorder as well.
 
If the tweets by Malachians are true that's real indictment against United and especially Eddie. Seems like multiple factions have formed and each one is passing the blame to the other. Sir Alex probably blames Woodward for not supporting Moyes in the market, Woodward blames the other directors for anointing David, the Class of 92 probably feels a bit aggrieved by the secrecy around their future. We need to iron these things out and get on the same page. Pulling in different directions will serve no purpose. Also enough with the media briefings. We need to be more covert about internal affairs. :(
 
Some of that is bollocks. LvG sent Kroos out on loan twice and played him on the wing when he returned so Muller could play centrally.
 
Didn't Andy Mitten say Kroos turned us down rather than LvG not wanting him? Sounds way more plausible than Brophs' drama queen's version.
 
What the feck is this leaking to the press all about? How hard is it to just shut your mouth Woodward.
 
 
If we dont get top 4 this year, the club will be in serious problems. The sponsors will run, plastic fan following will fall, some say its okay, but remember these fans do generate lot of revenue for the club, Not being in cl costs lots of money, I think the importance of this year under LVG is being understated. I think everyone knows we need to buy to keep in top 4, if we dont glazers might as well kiss the club good bye.

I think LVG has given very different targets to woodward than moyes had. No one knows whats going on, even red issue/UWS both of which have been getting constant rumours from within the dressing room arent getting it right, Ogden,ducker,Mitten all have reported "not interested in x player" rather than interested in x player. Its all a guessing game right now.

Most of the players have joined national squads right now and will have asked agents to put talks with any club on hold as believe it or not world cup is a big deal and players that interest us might be there. One thing i am sure about is LVG wont sign the whole dutch team, he knows they arent good enough.

Woodward from what i can see isnt the brightest chap, he i think wants united to get one world class player so that he can show he is a top dog, it would also please the fans and increase sponsorships. I think ogden reported on these lines that glazers like such deals, hence giving rooney(the most marketable britisher alive) the best contract in the country.

This summer is an acid test for the club, The genious of LVG could get us top4 even with a couple of additions, but we wont be top dogs until we spend a huge amount of money.

I don't understand how the Glazers can support that kind of behavior. Ed Woodward should not have this job. The guy would be better suited working for a tabloid newspaper where gossip/rumors are welcomed. The man acts like a fan/muppet. I bet other clubs laugh at him when he calls them.

He's a host on Sirius FM and Beyond the Pitch. Seems very knowledgeable about the inner details at United, Fergie used to be a guest on the show. He also called out Moyes' firing way before others did and the Glazers' displeasure with not qualifying for Europe. Some reliable people have vouched for him - including Andy Green.
