I doubt we will get anybody in before the World Cup now. I reckon the club wanted at least Shaw signed before then but he's holding out for a Chelsea move in my opinion. It doesn't really matter when things get done, as long as we get the right players in. I'm pretty confident we will have a successful summer though, Wooward simply can't afford another bad one.

@Malachians can't even spell "weaker" properly, and Andy Green is a notorious drama queen. all sounds like bullshit to me.

You may not know him but he is followed by Ogden, Taylor and a few others.

It wouldn't surprise me if true. LvG has worked with a DoF at Ajax, Barca and Bayern so he is not alien to it.

United are looking for a regional and European recruitment officer focusing around the knowledge of academy players. The position is to organise and co-ordinate a scouting network for the recruitment of Academy students not living within the catchment region of the Academy both at home and abroad so perhaps it has something to do with this since he has worked as a scout and coach as well as director of football.

I remember reading that Gary Neville used to negotiate his own contracts with the club and also help the younger players in their contract issues. Wouldn't he be a good candidate for a DoF kind of role?

No. Negotiating contracts is a very minute part of the job. If we're looking for a DoF ( I dont think so), it'd be to help with transfers. Gary would add nothing there.

How do you know United are looking for that? It's pretty interesting.

Agent Dave is on the case

Your knowledge never ceases to amaze. Sounds like a very good investment.

Ah fantastic, I'm in need of a new job, Where can I apply?

He has a horrible rep in the game though right?

This bit fecks me up.

With significant experience working in a professional football environment with players up to 23 years of age and in the general environment of high performance sport, the successful candidate will hold a UEFA ‘A’ License, have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a thorough understanding of talent identification of elite athletes.

Our lack of activity in the transfer market is seriously frustrating. I don't care it's early days, people said that last year as well and we ended up with feck all signings. Chelsea are a classless club but credit where credit is due, they sort out their transfer business swift and smooth, something we lack severely in recent years.

Which is why Chelsea have finally secured that striker they've needed for about 3 years.

As compared to someone with a wealth of experience of doing just that (and by that, I refer not to Comolli particularly, but to a suitable candidate in general)? To be perfectly honest, I'd prefer someone who definitely won't be biased towards English players, someone with vast knowledge of other European leagues and the game around the world. In other words: progressive.

I think Neville says what he does because of his coaching relationship with the national team. I don't think he's foolish enough to hinge his job on English players if he becomes a DoF. I just mentioned the contract negotiations of his ability to look at both sides of the coin and deal with agents once the manager identifies the targets.
