SANTOS WANT ANDERSON :devil::drool:

Brazilian club Santos had a plan to get Diego from Atletico Madrid for free, given his current contract situation. Just like his midfield teammate Tiago, Diego has been unable to agree deal with the Spanish club to continue there next season.

Santos had wanted Diego to be a big signing for them but they too can't conjure up a contract which pleases Diego and the midfielder may now end up in the Turkish league. According to Terra in Brazil, Santos have been informed that Diego would prefer to agree a deal with a European club.

That has led Santos to go for Manchester United midfielder Anderson who has been on loan at Fiorentina since the winter window. The Serie A club had big hopes for Anderson but he failed to live up to them and it looks unlikely that they'll take up their option to buy him.

Terra say that Santos have sent Renato Duprat, of the Doyen group, into negotiations with Manchester United over getting Anderson on loan and then presumably picking him up for nothing when his Manchester United contract ends.

Santos will surely have problems with Anderson's wages if Diego's were a problem and it's unlikely Manchester United will send him on a free loan, ahead of a free transfer, and also subsidise the player's wages.

David Moyes to Southampton would put a stop to Luke Shaw coming here that's for sure. That said I think it would be a good appointment for them and a chance for Moyes to rebuild he's reputation.

Del Bosque hasn't managed at club level for 9 years and hasn't managed at this level in any of the big countries in 11. I'd doubt he was even on the list let alone top of it.

Don't know why people think that managers suddenly lose the ability to manage clubs after they have managed countries. Del Bosque didn't like the stress and workload involved with keeping Madrid on top but it doesn't change his ability to be a top manager of which he certainly is. I imagine he has turned down many big offers over the last decade

why would it? You reckon he wants to play for Moyes and not United? Have a word with yourself

I highly doubt that Moyes would like to see any of his players sold to United. He'd push for him to move to Chelsea.

Negotiations with United. Can you imagine how they are going?

"We'd like Anderson"
"He's yours"
The End.

No, there'll be haggling over the price. United are prepared to offer £10m to them to take him off our hands, but Santos want £15m.

I highly doubt he would have a say with Southampton wanting to sell assets.

Exactly, their won't be much money for transfer this summer for whoever their new manager is.
Selling a their 2 biggest assets will probably raise £50m, they will both be sold.
As for Shaw he's apparently been offered 100k a week to join United, their is no way he'll stay at Saints this summer, him and his agent will be looking forward to the increased salary.

It's not a case of losing ability but he only was a top club manager for 3 years in his entire career. That vs other candidates who had many more years in club management winning more over a longer and sustained period of time, I think it'd be odd for Del Bosque to be near the top of the list, if on it at all (of course depending how long it was)

When you haven't got that day to day interaction with players and are more than a decade removed from having been charged with launching and managing a campaign, I don't care how many World Cups you win in the meantime, I think that's an issue for any club looking to appoint someone, as we were, with a proven track record at the level we'd require over a long period of time.

Shaw as good as certain to leave and Lallana also very likely. Moyes wouldn't just come in and stop it - that isn't how transfers work.

This transfer window has been underwhelming, it started off so brightly after it seemed like we'd be announcing the Shaw deal very soon.. Now looks like we're going to pay 25 mill for a 29 yr old CB, and no sign any CM's coming this way..

Shaw: "It's always been a dream to play under a great manager like David Moyes"

...calling it now. Slap a fiver on it

He came in and stopped all our transfers last summer, apart from Fellaini!

More like:

"We'd like Anderson"

"We're willing to pay you 5 million pounds to take him off of us."

**long pause***

"Ok, ok, we'll throw in Cleverly and 2 more million."

"Deal!"

Did you really just say that?

But no, I don't think Luke would rather stay at Southampton under Moyes than join us but I do think Moyes might try and swing it so he goes to Chelsea or even Tottenham..

Jesus, this Mister_Stubbs must be the most negative poster we've on the Caf.

I don't know how he would be able to do that with a straight face considering he has just spent a few months trying to convince him to sign for United.

It's only the 28th of May mate, and there's a World Cup going on.

It is the mail. Same paper who said we signed him for £20m. They know feck all.

Too lazy for Mourinho's taste anyway. I can't see him allowing Kroos the luxury of not pressing all game and not diligently defending.

I'd imagine Kroos will become the highest paid player next summer after Ronnie & Messi.
He'll be able to command £300k a week. A 5 year deal would be worth £75m. Given what were prepared to pay in a transfer fee this summer and his reported wages he'll be cheaper next summer.

It hasn't even opened yet...

Let's wait at least a month or two before we go full retard, yes?

It is not even June yet and you are saying it started off brightly? We have 3 months left to do business, quit moaning.

The Kroos thing is the biggest non story ever. Of course Chelsea are going to be in for him. If you have a player that good available on a free every big team in the world will have a look.
