You are killing me Jamie! God knows who we're targeting if Kroos and Fabregas aren't good enough.

It would be funny if we have a poor transfer window after all the talk from Woodward and his favourite journalists.

Firstly he isn't SHITE and secondly he is better than who we have right now, maybe not Carrick when he is on form.

Well alright he's not shite but he's hardly at the level we should be aiming. Every team in the Premier League probably has a midfielder 'better than who we have', doesn't mean they're good enough or that we should be looking at them.

If everyone for Holland would fit Clasie would've been lucky to make their World Cup squad & if he didn't play the pass to assist RvP & van Gaal wasn't Dutch I doubt anyone would even mention his name.

"Better than who we have now bar Carrick" is an awfully low standard of player considering the improvement we need to make. In fact that translates pretty directly into "not good enough".

I completely agree. Carrick needs replacing end of. He's been fecking shite this season going largely unnoticed.

It's going to be a looong window, I get the feeling it's going to be disappointing.

I think Carrick is suffering from the same issue as Evra, over usage and lack of competition. He's had some good performances every now and then so its not like he's hopeless like some others in his position.

He really isn't. He is probably on par with Cleverley, who has far more experience at the top level.

Carrick is far from shite, but if he is our first choice central midfielder going into next season the alarm bells will ring. He is close to past it.

Schweinsteiger would be pretty risky in himself. He has been playing through injuries and pain barriers for years on end. Still a great player, of course.

 We rejected Schweinsteiger too?

If that is true, which I highly doubt, we deserve to be the mid-table mess we are.

Why do we reject the best players? It's madness, if true.

Great, signing a player who won't be fully fit who'll take a little longer to get up to speed in a new league without a pre-season all for a hefty sum of money.. not much of a risk that is it?

If this is all true and seeing the mess of last summer, would be people be keen on a DoF?

Hunter. Well he didn't say reject, but says we were offered him.

That's what i thought, we didn't reject anyone, why are you hurting yourself guys ?

Does Schweini wants to come ? For how much ?

It was much better before twitter. We'd sign a player out of the blue and BAM! it'd be on teletext. Deal done. Still couldn't believe the day I came home from school to find out we'd spent 7M on Andy Cole. 'Twas magnificent.

Now it's like a 3 hour trailer for a 2 minute film.

Why don't we just show some patience and let Van Gaal get his own targets and not the players Moyes wanted? Yes, they're world-class but clearly Van Gaal has other ideas in mind and we shouldn't panic just because we've apparently rejected the chance to sign Kroos.

Don't know about you guys but I feel extremely confident in Van Gaal's ability to put us back on the top. You just get the sense of calm that was missing when Moyes was the manager. It's because Van Gaal knows what he's doing and only signs players that will fit into his system perfectly.

Patience is key here because it's not even fecking June yet!

If Toni Kroos is generally happy to come here and we've turned him down then I'd be sick.. there isn't many better out there.

No, we are responsible for this whole mess. We appointed Moyes and sacked him at the end of the season. A good strong manager wants his own players and that might take a while now. A DoF that forces player on Van Gaal would be terrible, like at Bayern with Tymoshchuck.

Van Gaal has a certain vision of playing and I'm sure he has a good plan. Don't forget he got RvP with him who knows the squad very well.

Haha, that's spot on. I got excited about Cantona and TeddySheringham in the same way.

Is it really any surprise to anyone with a brain in their head that Kroos and Muller were never really realistic?

I guess we can't really judge now, we have to wait until the window shuts.

The thought of not being able to sign Kroos or Muller doesn't particularly bother me, they always seemed like very ambitious targets.

What does bother me is the notion that the club has only just realised they're unobtainable, or only just decided to pursue totally different targets. That would be a grim omen for the rest of the transfer window.

"Hi, can we buy Kroos?"
"No, but you can have Schweinsteiger."
"Nah, no thanks..."

The scariest part is people actually believe this bollocks

Surely the Carvalho boat has sailed at this stage?

Koke and Herrera are the only two I can think of and neither seem that likely.

I'd really love to know what we're thinking at this stage. Early days but changing our targets likes this strikes me as the sort of thing that could lead to another summer debacle.

Especially weird as LVG said we started talking to him a couple of days after Moyes went. How are we only changing focus now?
Rakitic, for god's sake Rakitic. Why does everyone always forget about Rakitic.
