Bit like SportWitness without them looking into the stories, but a good aggregator none the less.
He is second only to Hummels in my book, if he costs 40m he is worth it as there are no other options of his quality on the market at the moment.

Around £48 million then, I'd say he's worth that off the season he has had, and considering they paid £30 million more than that for Bale, who is a brilliant player but not worth £30 million more. I really hope we do this; that world class winger has been missing from our team ever since Ronnie abandoned us, and can be a key weapon to have in attack.

I'd be happy with it. Look at the sort of prices top players go for these days, we need to get with the times.
I'm all for us signing up and comers and all that but if we want top players at their peak then we're going to have to accept that they don't come cheap.
In todays market Di Maria is worth €60m, especially to us as we arent in the champs league this year and we have no attacker like him.
So 45m€ for Mata, 50m€ for Özil is ok but 60m€ for Di Maria is way out of order? Di Maria was the best player at Real Madrid last year, and because Perez is a feckwit they're willing to let him go. He is 26 and would've atleast 5 world class years for us. He is exactly what we need to make Mata, Januzaj, RvP and Rooney look so much more effective.

£48m is a good price for him, he's one of the best attacking players in the world and is a world class winger, who is coming off the best season of his life. What would you expect to get him for, because anything less then that would be a steal for him.
Well, when you let yourself get into this situation; 2 weeks of the transfer window left with an absolutely shocking squad, then you're not going to have the luxury of paying sensible prices.

A lot of sources, including Di Marzio reported that Napoli wanted us to pay at least 50% of his wages in return for the loan fee! basically the loan fee would cover a little more than our half of his wages. Yeah woodward is awful at trying to sell players. Wouldn't surprise me if united have leaked this, with the intention of getting some positive PR. Similar to the Bebe deal, where we took the unprecedented step of releasing his fee, "could rise to €3m", which actually turned out to be basically nothing rising to €3m, as Benfica's president said that they practically paid nothing for him iirc.
£48m is a great price for Di Maria...Real paid Monaco £63m for James and ADM is superior to James.
He's had a very good season, doesn't make him worth £48m, I'm sure someone will quote transfers like Luiz or James to say that £48m for Di Maria is a fair price but it just isn't IMO. For every transfer like that, I could quote you a few that are equally as good, that went for far less. He had a great season last year, he's a very good player, he simply isn't worth £48m.
As I said just above. We paid £27m for fellaini, should that vastly inflate the price of every other average footballer in the prem too then?
