We cannot have a summer transfer window similar to last year.......surely not.

Its actually a little better than last summer. We bought Herrera and Shaw, but its still not good enough of course

Means very little when their club president has already said he can go for the right price and that they've pretty much resigned to the fact that he's leaving. The only reason he won't be leaving is Fiorentina asking a ridiculous some of money which clubs aren't willing to pay.

If I could be a fly on anybodies wall right now, it would either be Rihanna's bedroom or Woodwards office

I don't honestly know much about the background of Woodward, whether he is a big sports fan or what, but even if he isn't, he must surely know that the squad isn't up to standard, but he's not a stupid man, there is a lot of to lose on the financial side of things if we have another poor season. We would lose a % of the money from Adidas, sponsors wont be as interest as they are now, players would have even more reason not to join us, missing out on the CL is also a big loss.

All this must be taken into account, surely. It just baffles me why we are taking so long to make our moves

Ancelotti would probably play Di Maria every week if it weren't for Perez.

Feel for the guy. One hell of a manager. Goes to Chelsea and wins, gets Torres shoved on him by an idiotic owner. Then the same thing happens at PSG and Real Madrid.

He knew exactly what he was getting into to be fair.

He knew exactly what he was getting into to be fair.
It even goes as far back as his Milan days. I guess he's just used to managing under such power-dominant clubs.

EDIT: Here's what he said:

He said: "I don't want to enter into this theme so I don't lose focus on tomorrow's game. Di Maria is available like all the others. He may or may not start the game and has opportunities, but like everyone else.

"What I won't do is put out the same team in both legs. One team will play tomorrow and on Friday I will change it a little.

"I don't know what Di Maria has decided. But I know that he's training and that he could help us in tomorrow's match. Until August 31 it will continue the same way and after that everything will be cleared up and things will return to normal."

Benatia was City's plan B to Mangala? Bizarre, he's better by some distance.

We better make some big moves, Woodward's reputation is on the line here and LvG is not going to be one to be quiet if Woodward fails to deliver unlike Moyes..

Weird one indeed, but Taylor was/has also been saying that we're not in Vidal too right?

Could be another smoke screen perhaps? Feck knows!

The next week is going to be very telling... though I must point out that it should have never allowed to drag on so long, especially after the season we just had.
Even when the reinforcements come, and I still do think they will come... our transfer department needs to be revamped, possibly starting with a DOF.

He's not confirmed anything. DT doesn't know any more than any of the other UK journos who have been getting the square root of feck all out of their sources at United all summer long.

And anyone who knows anything would know that Benatia was City's plan A but they were priced out of a move. Going for Mangala was easier because they could do some underhanded dealing with the third party owners to sneak under their FFP spending cap.

Obviously he's only confirming what he has heard.

The only thing that really confirms anything is when the player has been announced by United.
