Its actually a little better than last summer. We bought Herrera and Shaw, but its still not good enough of course

I would disagree. The fact we were champions. Confidence was high last summer despite the obvious weaknesses in the squad.
This summer we are off the back of our worst league finish in 20 odd years and we were quite frankly an embarrassment. Herrera is a good buy of course but Shaw for me is a great future player the fact he joined whilst last season two LBs were sold leaves us in my eyes a player short. Add other departures and Eds big bold interview I'd say this summers window so far is a huge clusterfeck and with no further additions we'll pay for it with another season out of the CL.

Anybody with a credible source on this? it's maddening... is it as easy as Ed Woodward playing hardball over prices or do players genuinely not want to come to us? it's becoming really frustrating

I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's true. We have made the least amount of signings of any PL team and generally there is a bigger turnover of players in the lower leagues so can't imagine there are many L1 or L2 teams who have signed 2 or less players.

What a response to the "Moyes Season".

Woodward is like Levy, but rather than playing hardball on selling players, he does it on buying.

 Challenge Barca/RM for players. No fixed budget. We can pay 50,60 million for a player. fecking disgrace.

Song, if we could get a fairly cheap option to buy at the end of the loan, would make some sense, if we're not signing Vidal and are waiting for Strootman.

It's hard to see us actually completing 3 massive signings in the next 12 days, but something like this might be just enough to get us to 4th:

Di Maria/Cuadrado/wide player
Benatia/Rojo/Other CB
Song

Woodward would shit himself if van Gaal confronted him. I'd pay to see that showdown.
I don't know about that. Van gaal can generally destroy people with his glare but the woodward stare is well creepy and disturbing.

You need a credible source?

We've signed two players. Numerically speaking the best possible position we could be in is 90/92.
