Woodward and the Glazers are to blame.

If Woodward only signs Rojo before the window closes, this entire transfer window will have been a complete failure. We need Di Maria and Vidal. If we don't get them I hope Woodward is booed out of the stadium. If the results suffer than Woodward and and the Glazers have no one to blame but themselves.

You say like they care. They don't. All they care about is $$$. I thought they were smart enough to spend enough money this year so we'd be a lock for top4, but it seems that with all the big commercial deals done, they couldn't care less.

Btw Vidal and Di Maria would be awesome, but for example a Cuadrado and let's say Khedira/Carvalho would improve this side immensly. It's a nice dream though. I think our business will be done with Rojo and Blind

Nastasic is a better prospect than Mangala, injuries aside. Or, at least, he's shown more in his short career than Mangala has. Given that he's played well in a vastly superior league.

Except all these commercial deals will be happier if we had CL football. Especially somebody like Adidas.

So it looks like we'll finally sign somebody... Happy it's happening and we're getting some depth but really, we need a lot more then just him. Another center back and a midfielder/winger is necessary still.

I thank Sporting and everyone who works at the club.

when my career wasn't in the best moment, Sporting gave me the opportunity in a big European club...+

Those are all long term deals. They still can pocket enough money out of the club, even if the deals aren't that freakishly high. Of course you're right, but look for example at City and what they did without CL football. Bought Silva and Toure because they fecking could with all the money in the world. If United were prepared to pay the price for a player like Vidal or Di Maria, they would simply City style pay it up and nothing of this whole mess would be happening.

We still need another defender, midfielder and winger imo and even then nothing would be guaranteed unless they are top quality players we bring in.
Urgh what a state we are in at the moment.

Definitely but we are so short in defence in terms of numbers and quality so we simply have to bring some defenders in.

This is the sort of rationale that landed us with dross like Fellaini for nearly £30m.

Don't get me wrong, I've never watched Rojo, but the reports about him on here aren't exactly glowing.

So, the question is, is Rojo another average player, or are we signing someone who will elevate us?

He's 24, fast, big, strong and mobile, good enough to start for Argentina in the WC final so surely a player who will add to our options with the potential to develop further under LvG.

According to a few journos he's pretty average. There's 2 Portuguese lads at work who also think he's shit.

This is the key for me. We need quick defenders for this system.

Swap Brazil for Argentina and we've got the exact same description for Kleberson.

Balls to it, we need a defender and I'll take anyone right now
