Most profitable but nowhere near the richest nor the most attractive. We've become even less attractive following last season and the loss of CL football. I'm being realistic with my expectations which a lot of people don't seem to be.
Established players aren't guaranteed to make us better, and they're also the most difficult to obtain. Who said we need to buy cheap mediocrities? It's not difficult to understand how Atletico have been successful in recent times - they've signed talented players and put them in a system that has got the best out of them. They've used their patience and given game-time to up and coming players, something which the sugardaddy clubs don't have time for. Even Arsenal do the same - if we signed Koscielny, Mertesacker, Flamini or Sanogo at the stage they were when Arsenal signed them now, people would lose their minds. People fail to realise that even the likes of Juventus have followed similar strategies and not signed the best in Europe. Then everyone manages to go mad whenever we're linked with of their players for huge money. Do people realize what price Vidal went for? Or Gundogan? Then they go to a bigger club and everyone complains about how we're missing out. Players like Daley Blind are no different - people completely change their mind when those players go to someone like Dortmund and start performing - and suddenly they were always a sure thing and we missed out by not picking them up in the first place.
We finished seventh, have no CL football and have the Glazers at the helm - this isn't a quick process, time to be realistic with our ability to sign players.
