Cant believe we missed out on Garay. with the form hes in, he would have walked into any defense in the world. IMO We should be going for someone within the league like Vertonghen.
Spurs - Levy - hardball - no chance.

I wish the Caf twitter account would repost one of these tweets to get Moyes fecking mug off the front page.

As for Mexes......
I'm not the only one that it's irritating!

Haha, I left it as the last tweet to post last night so he'd be peeking on the homepage for a while.

Been a fairly quietish day. People still down in the dumps and venting their frustrations so there isn't a lot to tweet right now.

It's even worse now I know it was a premeditated evil plan!

Losing yesterday was the worst thing that could happen to this thread

Lots of United twitter accounts today are talking about boycotts, un-following @ManUtd, Glazers out campaigns, Green and Gold etc.

Un-following their twitter account, that'll show 'em.

It sounds silly but the club does seem to monitor their facebook and twitter numbers pretty seriously.

Didn't Woodward even bring it up in one of his quarterly reviews as sign of how many fans the club has or something.

So cruel, his Golum grin is boring into my soul!:p

where are we supposed to find a top notch defender who's great aeriall and physically and can also pass the ball well? benatia, chiellini would cost a bomb and are probably not even available. thats why the Garay transfer is such a mystery

It won't really mean much but if we restart the green and gold campaign, it will create good atmospheres in the games and maybe even push us into making some deals, because panic signings or not, we need them. Also the green and gold scarves were quite nice.

It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds if things continue to go wrong. I don't think van Gaal or the players will bear the brunt, it'll be Woodward and the owners and I imagine it'll be a lot more intense than the one a few years ago.

If not Benatia, I hope somebody else. We need two defenders not just one.

At least instead of Glazers out, they should have an Ed Woodward OUT campaign.

Don't know about that, blame for no signings seems to be being layed at the feet of the Glazers from what I've seen today.

Ed has signed us four players though, and we've spent about 120m in 12 months.....

I did really love those scarves.

If Sporting has called that interview/press conference he's going to be apologizing.

Wouldn't think he'd say that he wants to leave in an official Sporting press event.

I'm sick to bastarding death with these know-nothings on Twitter, forums etc. coming up with these "hilarious" Woodward jokes.

They have no bolloxing clue how we negotiate for transfers, let alone who our targets are, yet they continue to spout shit.

Gobshites.

Course we know who are targets are....Adidas, Mr. Potato, DHL. :D

Most profitable but nowhere near the richest nor the most attractive. We've become even less attractive following last season and the loss of CL football. I'm being realistic with my expectations which a lot of people don't seem to be.

Established players aren't guaranteed to make us better, and they're also the most difficult to obtain. Who said we need to buy cheap mediocrities? It's not difficult to understand how Atletico have been successful in recent times - they've signed talented players and put them in a system that has got the best out of them. They've used their patience and given game-time to up and coming players, something which the sugardaddy clubs don't have time for. Even Arsenal do the same - if we signed Koscielny, Mertesacker, Flamini or Sanogo at the stage they were when Arsenal signed them now, people would lose their minds. People fail to realise that even the likes of Juventus have followed similar strategies and not signed the best in Europe. Then everyone manages to go mad whenever we're linked with of their players for huge money. Do people realize what price Vidal went for? Or Gundogan? Then they go to a bigger club and everyone complains about how we're missing out. Players like Daley Blind are no different - people completely change their mind when those players go to someone like Dortmund and start performing - and suddenly they were always a sure thing and we missed out by not picking them up in the first place.

We finished seventh, have no CL football and have the Glazers at the helm - this isn't a quick process, time to be realistic with our ability to sign players.

I'm not sure what you're saying.

That we have to accept mediocrity because the Glazers won't spend money? If it's true that the owners won't spend (and I actually don't think it is) that is certainly the case.

That we have to pursue a Dortmund or Atletico strategy, behave like a club with far smaller financial resources, and that that is the path to success? I disagree. Occasionally, inspired by a gifted manager, a Dortmund or Atletico will break through to the top rank, but inevitably fall back again due to lack of money. In any case, that's far too uncertain a path, and too dependent on luck. I don't want United's future to hang on throwing double sixes in a sporting lottery. The only sure road to football success is paved with gold.

City bought their way (very quickly) to the top with little to recommend them except cash. Even in our present situation, we have more to offer. United just need someone in charge who knows what he's doing.
