even Arsenal keep strengthening, if they got this guy they could be DM away from being genuine title contenders.

28 apps, 3 goals
37 apps, 9 goals
25 apps, 5 goals

Is this guy a striker? His goalscoring record doesn't look very convincing.

He's played out wide quite a bit too, either way, he's not that good & Napoli have no interest in keeping him so I reckon this could be more them trying to drum up interest.

financially we cant afford to be out of the CL another season. If the coach wants new faces to guarantee success then im sure the club will oblige . i expect us to buy at least a couple more players, maybe a defender and a winger/wingback.

Why can't we afford it financially?
Or our Adidas deal without CL is almost twice the next closest. Our Chevrolet deal dwarfs the next biggest deal.

Yes we can.
it directly affects how much revenue we make through our sponsors. and our popularity takes a hit as well. how would they manage to market our club to news sponsors if we cant even make the top 4? dont agree with you there.

What has United done wrong, we'e enquired and made a bid. Then all this power struggle shit is going on, yet we're the ones who have failed and done something wrong? All United want is a player and to negotiate for him.

I think the £750m Adidas deal is going to a massive burden on us...coupled with Woody's ineptness and clubs knowing we have money i can see us struggling to buy players at a resonable price.

I guess the fact we are also out of the champs lge will also coutn against us when attempting to buy the truly best players.

Yes we probably take a hit for a 2nd year, but then players will look at it as more than a blip and it will be even harder to sign quality players.
Just saying we can afford it financially. Nobody wants that to be the case.

Ok, first of all 1st choice seems to have been Vermaelen and because they couldn't wrap that up earlier, he ended up at Barcelona (if we bid the 15m in July they'll sell him even to United) plan B is now Rojo, where they've bid not enough and seemingly tried to pressure them with the 3rd party owner.

Just seems all a bit amateurish. Ideally the pursue Rojo/other CB in the same time as Vermaelen is option A and don't lose that much time. Again the club lets players/clubs drag things out, when they should just make a certain deadline for option A and if option A just isn't happening, swiftly having option B lined up.

That's his point.. Even with the no champions-league penalty it would be a ridiculous sum of a money for us to be raking in. It'd still be a record breaking deal and by a long way too.
new sponsors are looked at every year. if other teams are getting stronger and establishing business relationships because of their increasing popularity. by that logic we would suffer by missing out on potential deals to clubs that are performing better. liverpool and spurs becoming stronger finacially means more competition for us, which doesnt augur well for us, next year or in the years to come. im sure the club realizes this

We were never in for Vermaelen imo.

United literally have done nothing wrong, its Sporting and that agency that is holding it up.

Vermaelen and United had agreed a deal in June according to many reports, not to mention how well documented it was that we are desperate not to lose him to Barca.

Why do you think that Rojo is only now a target?

Yeah it is still £52m per season, twice what we are getting this year and £20m more than the next largest deal that Real have.
and how many millions would we miss out on if we dont make it to the champions league next season as well. if you combine that income im sure it would be close to a 100 mil. we wont go into administration, thats not what im implying. i merely stating that establishing business associations soon might become as competitive as the league itself. we would no longer be the all powerful club that we used to be if this continues. the ripple effect of missing out on CL is being underestimated.

They clearly wouldn't have sold Vermaelen to us that early if they knew Barca held some form of interest and they had the chance to sell there instead and Rojo's nothing on our part, the problem lies with Sporting & the third party. If Sporting had all his rights you can guarantee it'd be done by now. If you're gonna complain about transfers at least do it about things that aren't out of our hands.
