Let's be honest, if before the World Cup people would have said that Valencia would star for Ecuador then almost every football fan in Europe would have assumed the player being talked about was Manchester United's Antonio.
Few had even heard of Enner Valencia and that's no surprise given that the 25 year old plays for Pachuca who are in the Liga MX in Mexico. Enner also has limited experience internationally and he probably would have struggled to even get a work permit before the World Cup, but now he's very much a fully fledged international and star of his team.

Julio Maldonado, who works for Canal Plus, Cadena Ser, AS and others, has said that Arsenal have a serious interest in the player and that Arsene Wenger is personally 'loco' for him.
Enner Valencia is a striker and Arsenal could certainly do with adding some depth and quality in that area. He wouldn't cost a huge fee although his performances so far at the tournament will have convinced Pachuca they can ask a little more should clubs come calling.
He's beaten his namesake to be Ecuador's best player at the World Cup and the country still have a chance of progressing to the next round.
Enner Valencia has scored three goals at the World Cup so far and brought transfer attention on himself. A move to Europe will probably be what the player is aiming for.
