Roma have denied reports that Benatia is on his way to #MUFC and have confirmed that he will stay for one more season (via @Gazzetta_it)

That's made up by the bloke posting it. His previous tweet gives this one context. There is absolutely no mention of Benatia on Gazzetta's timeline in the last three hours either. Judging by Jim White's previous transfer related tweets I'm not ruling this one out.

I wan't to believe.

Edit: they did just tweet this:

gazzetta are simply citing"British sites"...

In that Calcio article: "The club does not confirm ... the phones ring hollow, it is understood that the Roma "yes" will not give less than 35 million euro."

So any notion Roma have denied it is bullshit.

Mourinho's already said he isn't interested in signing any more defenders, not that you can totally trust his words but it seems very unlikely. Bayern, on t'other hand.... :nervous:

This is the only thing I can find on their site:

United will step up their search for replacements before the close of the transfer window. Despite being linked with Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal and Ajax wing-back Danny Blind, United have not signed anybody since the arrival of Ander Herrera and the now-injured Luke Shaw in June.

It's from Simon Hart, I have no idea how reliable he is.

Ian Herbert is fairly reliable from the Independent, not sure of Simon Hart.

Indy has been shit this year, like you said Herbert is decent and I would add Sam Wallace too, I'm gonna Hart is unreliable, not that he's reporting anything worth listening too.

That secret list is like a hidden case file in some post Cold War military base under a giant mountain being able to withstand a direct nuclear strike.

Is this another Tom Clancy's book or a football club ?

You would Sam Wallace? Interesting.....

I think Van Gaal will grab Woodward by the bollocks and not let go until a couple deals are completed.

Ed: "Let go Louis, you're crushing them! Arrggggh!"
Van Gaal: "I'll let them go when you've got me Benatia and Vidal, until then, you're not going anywhere."

If Woody does manage to do some deals every club out there knows we are desperate now so we will be overpaying all over the show. If we get Vidal, Di Maria and Benatia that will be £180m spent this summer minimum.

Can we really afford that without CL football?

I dread to think about the wages they will all be on also..

You wouldn't? I agree though, reckon LVG will step things up.

your forgetting we would look to shed around 40m + wages. in addition to the 300-400k a week wages weve already saved this summer.

Hernandes, fellaini, nani and anderson are all probably on their way out. and possibly somebody like kagawa. if we were to spend another 100m

, I hope so certainly hope so! Could be a big week I think. (either way.)

I wouldn't mind matching that bid for Rabiot, he looks like he could end up a good player, obviously not if it means we don''t get another Mid but you catch my drift.

I wouldn't like to see David Moyes' idea of failure, must be some sight.

A peculiar phenomenon of Twitter. Most United related tweets seem to be nonsense, whereas an oddly higher percentage of other club transfer tweets seem to be legit.

We can afford it whether we do it is a different matter.

New TV and Chevrolet deals kick in this season revenue up £30m. Adidas deal next an additional £40m. So even without CL revenue will be higher next year that now.
