£12 million for Moreno, very happy.
You're just jealous. He's the tit that sits next to Natalie Sawyer's on deadline day.
Getting Benatia in to play alongside Smalling, Jones, Evans and co. would be like buying a Rolls Royce and parking it next to a 206 and a Corsa.

Jones and Smalling needed an experience head to guide them, they had Tyler Blackett who was looking to them for the same guidance. They are all trying to learn a new system.Well that's just rubbish. Evans is excellent, and Smalling and Jones are both currently very good with the potential to become top quality.
I'm a big fan of Smalling and Jones but at the moment they're just not good enough. They've had potential for ages but have massively stalled in development for whatever reason. They haven't improved a lot since they've been here and haven't look particularly convincing at the back whenever they have played there together.Well that's just rubbish. i thought today we were toothless up front. How many chances did we create?Yea, just like last season, the defense is a small part of the problem. The big issue is still the porous midfield.
That's what happens when you play centre backs at right back and in midfield.Look at how Gary Cahill has developed over at Chelsea compared to Smalling and Jones here.
Very very few, but again, I would say that the contributing factor to that too was the midfield.i thought today we were toothless up front. How many chances did we create?
Benatia!
Jim White I take it is the source.
Well one of Jim White's sources is the source.
I'd have thought someone with his profile wouldn't stick his head above the parapet unless he was pretty sure.
With Blackett/Keane as backups too if they stay.Jones/Smalling - Benatia - Rojo/Evans
Suddenly 3 at the back looks feasible.

And no, Evans isn't excellent. He's average and consistently makes mistakes. Smalling is our best defender. Evans is the eldest out of the three yet somehow he gets a free pass that the other two don't get. He wouldn't start in any of the other top 6 teams. When he's good, he's really good, but when is ever that good nowadays? Rarely.
He's playing with John Terry, who is a great defender and a good leader. Jones and Smalling have spent most of their time at OT filling in at RB, when Rafa is injured for the numerous time, or in Jones case in midfield. They are miles behind in their development as CB's.Look at how Gary Cahill has developed over at Chelsea compared to Smalling and Jones here.

He also has a whole season playing next to Terry. Do you guys remember how solid Evans looked in 2012/13 next to Rio?Christ. Cahill is 4 years older than Smalling and 6 years older than Jones.

The club don't seem to realise that if we spend now and get it right, we could be set up for years to come. Then it would only take minor tweaking each season, if any at all. They would rather penny pinch. It will be false economy in the end. That penalty on the Adidas deal if we don't qualify for the CL could be the least of their worries.I think this could be a mental week. There seems to be a need for new signings like this club hasn't seen in modern history. The manager, the supporters, the pundits, ex-players all seem to agree we need an injection of quality. I'd love to see a few signings in the next 2 weeks. This result today could actually be pivotal. Its really exposed a lot of players today. Hoping for an exciting week.
