Nani has also been injured and/or rank average for the last two years. Clubs dont pay big money for players who a) aren't rated or wanted by their current managers or b) used to be good.
Hernandez is a good finisher - nothing more, sadly and in modern football, where forwards usually need to be able to lead the line on their own if required that's not as valuable a commodity as it once was.

Hernandez has excellent movement and has pace too. Combination of which along with his other attributes makes him almost a guaranteed goalscorer in decent teams.
That is a valuable commodity for any team.
