Really how do you work that out. I would even say Fellaini is probably better than Cleverly.
No probably about it for me, I'm not a fan of Fellaini, however, just because he isn't suited to us doesn't automatically make him a bad player. He's easily worth 15-18 million in my opinion. As for Cleverly, even with the English tax, he isn't close to that.

I think its time people let this go.
The same Allegri who handed Thiago Silva a new five-year contract, repeatedly reassured Ibrahimovic that he wouldn't be sold, only to sell both players a few weeks later to PSG?

Oh, right.

Galliani was responsible for the sale of Thiago Silva and Zlatan.

He's returning to Europe.

Standing as far back as possible, he made efforts from his side. Had Woody been present with a boat behind, he would have jumped in and that's that.

Fantastic to see people dig up instances of when a manager said player x will remain and left , ignoring multitude of times when the opposite actually happens most often.

Meaning that it's Marrota's word that matters. I'm not optimistic about this transfer, but Allegri's comment isn't reassuring, given his history at Milan.

What difference does that make? Allegri was just recently appointed Juve manager, I don't think they'll give him absolute control over transfers anyways. History could very well repeat itself.

If not then, well, Javier Hernandez is not going anywhere either.

If we want Vidal and Juve want Hernandez and/or Nani then surely we will be able to sign Vidal. I think Vidal's silence means he wants to come.

For sure the lack of CL is huge but we are led to believe we are still very sought after regardless.
I thought that myself of Giggs but I'd like to think he wants what is best for the club not just to side with his peers. I think players themselves must look around the changing room and think wow some of us are very lucky to be playing for Man United because they would struggle to get into a lot of top sides for sure.
Lets just hope there are some deals still to be struck....

Yeah, I would be hoping the same. I just worry that a mentality of thinking we are better than we actually are could be the case with some of them. Everyone's favorite scapegoat (including mine, I confess) Cleverley is a great example of this. All talk and no show. Fletcher had some words to that effect too towards the end of last season. Shouldn't really matter as LVG is more experienced, totally his own man and should see things others haven't, in some instances, including Fergie.

If I was an average player, conscious of the fact, playing for United, I'd make sure I'd leave everything out on the pitch every single game. I'd try to compensate relentlessly. Gary Neville is a great example of that. Not that he was average, but he himself said he wasn't that talented so had to make up for it with pure determination. And he did.

I agree.

As for Neville that's very true players who give their all (Fletcher) are much more tolerable to us fans than someone who just disappears in games and hides from the ball - like Cleverley. Both are not great players though, Carrick is by far the best midfielder (prior to Ander) and he is 33, really slow and injured. Says it all really. Neville though was a warrior and played in some great teams, unfortunately this team is not great so the lesser players stand out even more. Of course LvG will have them set up and playing more confidently this season but as it stands I still see us in a battle for fourth with Liverpool and maybe Spurs.

My pessimistic muppet nightmare is Herrera gets injured long term and then we are back to square one but with a lesser defence.

Well no, Nani's worth about €10m & Hernandez €17m. Being international's doesn't count for much when they aren't performing for their national team. Nobody will pay €25m for a striker who scored 4 goals last season, is 4th choice for club and 2nd choice for country & Nani's been shite for ages he's not fetching €20m in any world.

Even then, it works out at about €72m altogether, no chance we'd get €40m for the pair of them because on top of what they'd want in wages they're not worth that at all.

Nani is a regular for Portugal, recently scored a goal for them and has over 70 caps. Hernandez too is an international and one of Mexico's top strikers. You think none of this matters? Hernandez is a dam fine player. United might sell for about €15m but the likes of Real would sell Hernandez for €40m if he was their player.

Right to save my sanity Im just going to accept that Vidal is not coming to United. Every week we hear some bullshit quote, some bullshit rumour that weve offered this that and the other. All we have heard from United is we have made no contact for Vidal, Allegri has just said he is staying.

We clearly dont know our arses from our elbows once again with teams like Swansea making better signings than us. Perhaps we are happy being second fiddle in the league this year. Pretty fed up.
