LVG has already publicly stated he has made up his mind and players would be told after the tour, so I doubt he wants more assessment time. He doesn't strike me as someone who would say that publicly when it wasn't true.

No, Barcelona have officially confirmed it. It is not new injury, the one he is carrying from world cup. They haven't put a timeline on his return. Player will undergo physiotherapy and then evolution of injury and time for return will be determined. Wenger must be laughing though.
