Manchester Evening News just Tweeted a link to LvG quotes saying that he still hasn't had enough time to assess the players; says they didn't get the chance to train properly on tour. Christ, there's due diligence and there's taking the piss. For instance, watching the centre backs at his disposal isn't going to make another one magically appear. Same for the midfield situation.

I have no doubt they're re-hashing quotes, but disconcerting to hear LvG say he doesn't feel he got the chance to properly assess on tour - that'd imply he wants yet more time back at Carrington. Leaving transfer business so late is a recipe for disaster. I just thank our lucky stars that it's impossible for us to sign Fellaini this summer.
How much time does he need to realize we need more defenders and that our midfield is a joke. We're playing a dangerous game at the moment which will likely bite the club in the arse.
We're playing a game of transfer brinkmanship by the look of it - my guess is that we're trying to shave the prices of Vidal, Cuadrado / Di Maria and a CB down, and we reckon that by taking it to the wire, the selling clubs will eventually give in. More likely: Cuadrado will go to Barca, while Juve and Real will tell us where to get off.
Well that's just stupidity on the club's part if that is the case. Personally I find it hard to believe we're actually interested in Vidal, Cuardrado, Benatia because if we were serious about getting them we'd just pay the required amount rather than try and penny pinch.
To be fair, those quotes are from about 2 weeks ago. Since then he's come out to say he's made up his mind on the players who will stay and who can leave. That tells me he's made his decision. The mail and express running stories about who can leave indicates that. And if that Malachians bloke who does have United contacts is to be believed then these papers got the story from a reliable source. It ties in with van Gaal saying he will advise in who can leave. I'd imagine he'd also advise Woodward what and who we need. I'm confident that we will get players. Maybe not everyone were after but we will get signings especially if that many leave

One thing that would piss me off is if Chavs come in at the 7th hour & steal Benatia from under our noses.
This has to be the worst summer transfer window from a fans point of view, very little is happening, and anything that is being reported is just pure speculation. Roll on next week when we have the football to distract us from all the bullpoop
