Juventus can go feck themselves with their bargain shopping mentality. Why would you need to try an established international who has played in a champions league final? if they haven't evaluated him yet, they can fire their scouting staff.

No club will pay a penny for Anderson. He couldn't even get a game on loan in Serie A for Fiorentina. We'll end up loaning him to some Brazilian club and releasing him on a free next year when his contract expires. Absolute sh*thouse.

Sunderland have agreed deal in excess of £10million with Manchester City for Jack Rodwell. Playing having medical now.

Sunderland are ridiculous. Agreed to pay 14 million for Borini and now 10+ for Rodwell. City would recoup most of their fee for a guy that has barely played.

It is annoying when you see the pittance being quoted for quality players like Hernandez as compared to some of the other fees being paid out. Hernandez is a guarenteed 20 goals a season striker if he is a starter.

10 for Rodwell:lol: I think we have a chance of getting 2m for Anderson now

edit: didnt realise he was still only 23, still seems generous

I know that he's banned, but thought this tweet was rather interesting, and considering it's without any opinions i hope it's okay.

What an advert, sign up to the champions of England and you might get a sub appearance in three years and flogged to relegation escapees. Brilliant.

10 Mil and we are talking about letting Hernandez leave for 8-12 mil ? Well f*ck that we constantly get done up the arse with transfers we really do, he shouldn't be let of for at least 18-20 mill.

Juve would like Hernandez on loan to try him out and then be able to buy him for less than £8m. God loves a trier. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/juventus-eager-to-complete-transfer-with-manchester-united-quickl…

So they'd like to buy him for £1 million more than we paid for him? I'd love if the club actually responded to that bid:

"Juventus,

Piss off.

Sincerely,
Manchester United."

Woodward is all talk.

He'd have been going on what Moyes had told him. That was in May before Van Gaal had looked at the squad or decided on a formation. The plans would've changed since then.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to just listen to the requirements set out by our manager? Or do people just expect Woody to go out blindly and buy anyone in the high-end bracket?

Agreed, Woodie will do his best to sign whoever Van Gaal asks him to.
If Woodward if left to his own devices Cavani would be here by now, thank god LVG is here to steady the ship.

Unfortunately it seems it's the latter.

Certain posters seem more interested in a marquee signing than anything else. They'd happily have a top player show horned in than have a player who works better in the team.

I feel the muppets would have had more fun under Moyes this summer in terms of signings. I believe he would have thrown £100million+ early and signed a Kroos/Vidal. Or at least been very vocal about trying to sign them.

Van Gaal has been been with the squad less than three weeks now. He's publicly stated that he'll assess the pool of players and that he expects this to take three to four weeks. Nonetheless the puppetry goes on with caftards expecting Vidal here any second. I wouldn't expect any signings until mid or end of August, but some signings will be made. And it won't be Vidal !

A month to go.

Genuinely need to get someone in alongside him to do the football side of things and actually bid for players and such. Or just sack Woodward.
Although I'm just as frustrated, I do believe that when the squad returns home from tour, I believe we will be extremely busy in the market incoming and outgoing. I think the Vidal rumours are bollocks and we won't even bid for him. I expect a couple of central defenders in at least, other than that I haven't a clue.
If Woodward fails to deliver after this little speech the other week it will be more cringey than when Gill used to say we had a 'war chest' etc.
here's to a busy and exciting August, please

Agree with all you say.

I'm sure we're going for Vermaelen (permacrock) and we'll probably go for a CM but it I wouldn't expect anything like Vidal or di Maria.

But we'll see.

I dont particularly care how big a name our signings are but I do care that we make signings - its needed for depth if not quality.

I'm not saying everyone wants marquee signings, but there are a large proportion of people on here and people I chat to at work etc that only seem concerned with signing expensive players. It's almost as if they want to flaunt the fact we've spent £50million player when they talk to their City supporting mates.

A lot of people seem to decide a players worth depending on how much the selling club want from him or who else is interested in them.

Everyone likes a big name signing, but it really isn't the the be all and end all. I feel so much more confident that LVG will sign the right players for the team, whereas I believe Moyes would have been like a kid in a candy shop this year. He wanted to prove he wasn't a ditherer and I don't think he had the tactical nous to coach the team back to the top, so hoped signing a load of world class/almost world class players would push us back to the top.

The vidal saga isnt even a saga anymore. Nobody has any information whatsoever, the signing would make sense but the feeling im getting is the club havent even submitted an offer of any sort.

Ogden is on TalkSport right now. Says that Cleverly is likely to stay. Hernandez, Nani, Kagawa are the ones who are under scrutiny in terms of leaving.

Me too. Admittedly I'm basing that feeling on being told that very fact by numerous publications and people working for Juve, but still, pretty intuitive of me, I feel.
