Anyone else finding the delay getting more players in worrisome? I mean I know we got in Shaw and Herrera in early but we're slowly running out of big name players who are available this summer.

Vidal, Cavani (i dont want us to sign him), Casillas (We dont need him), Khedira (looks likely to go elsewhere) are the only one's I can think of..

I would have thought the club is more concerned with signing quality players for right positions, than worrying about the number of 'big names' floating about.

Meh, Vidal's the only one we need.

I'm talking about the avilability of quality players in positions we need to strengthen, not just namesake signings..

I honestly think that we aren't even in for a midfielder at all. We've heard nothing in regards to us being after another CM. Can see us getting one or two centre halves and that being that.

But who? Hummels seems an almost impossible buy.. Can't think of any other CB's who could improve our defense that are available.. Marquinhos? Varane?

It's no secret that LVG likes Hummels but he'd be a very difficult player to buy. Maybe just Vermaelen. Be shocked if we only got one in as all three of our main CB are injury prone.
I really don't know anymore, hopefully the club do

And adding an even more injury prone Vermaelen to the mix is a recipe for disaster! Lol

Yeah and replace last season's "United Way" with "Van gaal's philosophy" and we are good to go. Damn-it never knew quitting smoking will make me feel that depress and low. :(
 
With our defensive options, we could have used that Musacchio guy, not to mention Carvalho in midfield. I do hope the club has a few surprises up its sleeve because from the outside, it doesn't exactly look like this crucial transfer window is going our way. Many good options have gone elsewhere, some of them to our biggest rivals, while we are, if anything, weaker than at the end of last season.

Combination of last Summer, the fact its been a month since we made our two signings and that there is now only 2 weeks to go until the season starts.

Woody spent all season saying how we've learnt from our mistakes and we'll get our business done early this year, well if thats the case, either our business has been done, or we've fecked up yet again.

We stand to lose too much not to make the CL, so I don't buy that for one minute mate. Now I'm not saying that LvG and the current United crop are unable to achieve that, but I'm sure United would rather make damn sure! speculate, to accumulate my friend. ;)
 
LVG was clear that he had other plans though. He wanted to have a good look at our players on tour and then mentioned we'd have enough time to sign players after if they are needed. And he specifically said he wanted a defender
 
If we left it how it is we are one or two injuries away from another 7th place finish
 
I don't believe we're done for the summer at all, we certainly don't intend to. Whether we manage to bring anyone of note in, is another question.
 
I kind of feel like we're done now too. Van Gaal might want certain positions filled but there isn't a lot of quality options worth buying I feel.

Have patience my compadre...The club are busy on tour, things have been or are being assessed. It's only logical that LVG should have a look at the squad before deciding who to boot or which improvements he needs to make, I'm sure he's done that now and as soon as the club gets back from tour we will see some action in the market!
 
Before this window closes, we are going to sign 1 defender, 1 wing back/wide player and 1 more midfielder.

Mark my words, quote me on that, etc. etc.
 


Personally don't rate the guy as highly as some on here but I am always in favor of a defensive player getting the armband. If Phil Jones was a few years older I'd have given it him myself.
