I'm sure they have their contacts but I have a feeling lot of the Vidal rumors are coming from his agent rather than the club sources directlyDo Gazzetta have their own source or are they going off Le Mercurio/Chilevision?
You didn't even read it did you?
Thats one way of looking at it man. The other, is that they've seriously smart folk working for them in devising ways to beat the system.
When money's no object to people - they feel they have a divine-right to spend it how they like & f*ck anyone that gets in their way.
Football's not your average industry though, so take comfort in the knowledge that the powers that be (UEFA & FFP folk) will be keeping a close eye on all these types of shenanigans in our game. I dont have any doubts now, that they mean business about sugar-daddy / new-money ownerships killing our game..
I dont think LvG needs a month to have an idea of who needs and who doesn't fit into his style of play. A month's wait is too late into the transfer window and even he knows it, I think he was just generalizing when he said he needs a month. I think he meant he'll assess his squad over the coming weeks and decide on transfers
Yes, and I actually speak pretty fluent German for the record. If you read it properly, the only part actually linked with the Gazetta bit is the alleged price. 'According to GdS, the offer has increased from 43 to 60'.
Your very standard "I can't bare to be disappointed so I'll tell myself that the worst case scenario will happen" post. I don't even think you believe it.Whats so funny?
Should we be looking at marquinhos if we can't get Hummels?

Ha ha! Are you for fecking real? The whole story is from GDS. Who are probably just bullshitting based on the El Mercurio lie machine.Yes, and I actually speak pretty fluent German for the record. that article is way too short to be anything other than a click magnet.. It seems more focused on Leverkusen getting a payday if the Vidal deal goes through.
If it were based on solid sources, there'd be a much longer article with more information than what's been written imo.
You will be, don't worry.Trust me I do. I would love to be proven wrong, mind. I went into this Summer privately quite optimistic of big changes, and big signings. I stupidly believed all of Woody's trash talk.
I think the reason LvG's sessions are so intense is that he wants them to be ready for the new season and also why i don't think we'll make any major buys, cause there aren't any players of that caliber left in the market.Thats what i gathered from what he said, but seeing the intensity in training from him & the lack of any movement in the transfer market - it looks like he's pushing the shit out of the squad to see are they up for it.
He's puttin square pegs in rounds holes & trying to make it fit. Whats the f*ckn point when he's got a bottomless pit of budget to spend on quality players that are already top-class in those positions?
Or is he being so intense just so we can win the Champions Cup Tour thing & the transfers are a side-issue for now?
I'm baffled to see what the plan is at the moment..
You will be, don't worry.
Thanks for sharing the article/tweet.Perhaps, but that's generally Bild's style when reporting if you browse their site. Granted it's all still up in the air anyhow and I didn't exactly present the tweet as fact anyhow.
Also the fact that Leverkusen will profit, whilst not an unreasonable suggestion, hasn't actually been talked about (as far as I've read) across other media outlets suggests there is some novelty/secondary input to the story anyhow.

You want to say that a German newspaper has some special insight into all this, that somehow carries more weight than all the other crap we've heard?
Or are you just looking for a clap on the back for heroically translating this bum fluff article?
That is what makes them a joke, they are not really a proper football club. They will never be able to pull this of, because UFEA has the power to call sponsorship deals and deals like this invalid. They will just put a stipulated value on the transfer.
This will not be the case with Lampard, because he was a free transfer, and I don't see a problem with this transfer.
Sorry, I'm being pissy again. But your phrase 'the article is legitimate...a deal for Vidal is close' struck me as completely ridiculous when you find it's just a handful of lines referencing GDS. Saying something is legitimate implies a high level of trustworthiness.Yes for real... I'm just reading what's put in front of me. I've never said anything was factual, just given my take on it, whilst you've done well to put many words in my mouth there. It doesn't bother me in the slightest if you agree or disagree, whichever manner you choose to do it in.
For the record, I'm not convinced about this Vidal deal anyhow. I just saw something from a reputable news outlet - whoever their sources are - and posted it. That's all there is to it.

MUTV ON!
No worries. Let's hope this 'saga' is resolved soon, one way or the otherAdmittedly I could have clarified that. By legitimate I meant from Bild's own site, itself generally respected/acknowledged for sport in Germany, and with the 'deal close' bit, I was paraphrasing the article!
I get the concern over our lack of activity as I am a bit antsy myself and I was pretty calm during the World Cup when some were already losing their shit. To try and put a positive slant on things I do think it's possible that we are holding off completing deals until LvG is back and can be the one to greet and introduce the new signings and fully endorse the fact they are HIS choices.
I was hoping this might be the case, I think this probably means LvG sees him as the central figure in the 3 man back line.

There's a few reasons why we shouldn't. Firstly, he's really not that good; there's a reason PSG are looking to offload. Seems like he's regressed from his promising start to his career at Roma. Secondly, the fee being put about is somewhere between €35-45m, he isn't worth that. And finally, he isn't really the CB we need. We are in desperate need of a leader at the back, who has experience at the highest level and can synergise well with our current crop of prospects.
