Hmm they could put them as one of the three permissible designated players without taking a major hit on the cap and then loan them to City. They could even farm out some players like Villa during the off-season like Donovan to Everton.
I can't see Don Garber allowing an MLS club to be sending their 3 designated players on loan during the season. He'd have no problem kicking clubs out of the league if they weren't of a benefit and he'd want the 3 DPs playing in the MLS.

City is a joke of a club.

Thats one way of looking at it man. The other, is that they've seriously smart folk working for them in devising ways to beat the system.

When money's no object to people - they feel they have a divine-right to spend it how they like & f*ck anyone that gets in their way.

Football's not your average industry though, so take comfort in the knowledge that the powers that be (UEFA & FFP folk) will be keeping a close eye on all these types of shenanigans in our game. I dont have any doubts now, that they mean business about sugar-daddy / new-money ownerships killing our game..

Well the team Lampard signed for isn't playing till next season's MLS so it makes sense that he'd want to be loaned to play.

It's just that he serves no purpose for City. I didn't think they had a problem fulfilling the homegrown criteria.

He was just saying a few days ago that he couldn't play for another English club because of his connection to Chelsea.

Technically he's probably right as he's not going to get many (if any games) at city.

Come on guys, Lampard is not a bad player to take on loan for back up. A good player to bring on if you are desperate for a goal in a game you are losing and you need to try something different.

Don't care. Those moves really force our hand. I'm sure our club realizes that Chelsea and Arse have improved their squad quite a bit and that we HAVE to do so as well to be competetive next season. Our business so far is not sufficient.

I know we still have time left but I am getting worried now.. Even Everton looks a decent side. I hope we don't overhype Van gaal's "philosophy" or his ability to work with young players. As we all know premiere league is not some 'mikey' mouse league - although Woodward's last interview and Van gaal saying that he needs transfer window as much as training to improve our squad does gives me hope.

I don't care what anyone says I can guarantee that everyone is getting a little bit anxious now. After Woodwards interview there was tremendous positivity around the club. Since then we haven't heard a sniff of our plans, I'm putting ball my eggs in the basket and hoping that we will be busy when we return from our tour in the US. I'm praying we have deals in place, we've lost too many players.

Damn it just seems like everyone around us are buying players, good players as well while we are stuck in limbo. And yes i know we already bought Shaw and Herrera.

With the squad we have he'll have to instantly start working the magic to get us into that top 4. It'll be doable, but City and Chelsea are obviously strong, with Chelsea especially strengthening, and Arsenal you feel are a notch or two away from really challenging all season. Bear in mind all three haven't changed manager like we have, and we're starting behind them in many ways.

Everton and Liverpool had cracking seasons last year. Yes, Liverpool sold their one star player, but it's optimistic to think their scattergun transferring will go as badly as Tottenhams.

We definitely need a better cast for VG to work from.

However, against growing odds, maybe we'll do a double transfer over 24hours like Shaw and Herrera.
The clowns who were for Fellaini as he was allegedly "better than what we had", have seen what happens If you don't bring good enough players in, so not anyone will do.

Get a grip. Let the club get on with it and see where are when the window shuts.

Spurs just keep buying since Bale went - and mostly average.

Personally, I'd trust LVG to get it right over Pocettino.
