Chelsea have no need for Lopez.

Lopez can't possibly want to join them though. More twitter bollox. He's a proven keeper who should start at most clubs. Why would he want to sit on the bench?

Atletico Madrid are ready to make a bid £14m for United's Shinji Kagawa, having already enquired about his availability. [talksport]

Sure we can get more than £14m for Kagawa.
If he was in good form and pushing for first choice, then he could easily fetch £25m. As we are selling him apparently, just a squad player, below average form the last two years, 14m is fair... He's obviously a class player so will still get a decent amount. I don't think we'll sell him though. Nani, fellaini and Hernandez will almost definitely leave I think, but that's it.

Why is it that in every tweet and rumor with any player, there is interest but no contact?

they do realize the window shuts in a month right?

We paid £12m for Kagawa but he was in the last year of his contract at Dortmund. I think his value back then was around £20m but £14m is fair at the moment seeing as he has barely played for us these past two seasons.

I thought we paid £16m for Kagawa?!

Doubt it. We paid £17m for him and if anything his value has dropped, not increased.

He was in his last year of his contract. Bit like Kroos.

We should be aiming for 20 million for Kagawa, seeing what Griezmann, Shaqiri, Mkhtirayan, De Bruyne, Markovic etc.. have gone for or are rumored to be going for.

LVG will get the best out of Kagawa, people will be eating their words over wanting to sell him.

I very highly doubt United would sell Kagawa. Not sure if LVG will have LANs for him but the commercial side for him is huge. I doubt Adidas would be happy for United to sell him as well.

We really suck at selling. If this was Chelsea they'd probably get £25M

Thing is, most of the times when a player is leaving us it is because they are surplus to requirements and clubs take advantage of that. Very rare that we sell a player we want to keep.

Mata, Luiz and De Bruyne were surplus to requirements at Chelsea and they received over 100M for them. Shinji is still a talented player we should at least try and get 17M for him.

It is slightly worrying that with one month to go we are still only being linked with the likes of Hummels, Vidal and Di Maria. All of whom are unattainable.

Shades of the Fabregas pursuit of last season.

Yep.

This Summer is shaping up to be a train reck just like last season.

Yep. There is still lot of time but after last season we should have concluded our business early. And if we have already done that, I will be very worried.

Cue posts of "drop the doom & gloom" etc..

I'm in agreement with ya's though:

I think we all have the legitimacy to feel a little uncertain about top-class players coming in. We've been linked to every top player around in this window & nothing concrete to show we're interested.

The De Vrij rumours were proved to be utter shite, given that De Vrij said yesterday that we never made any contact regarding signing him. So who's to say all these other links arent just pure shite also?!

We havent said anything on rumours whatsoever, which can be read as a good thing or a bad thing - that we're keepin our cards close to our chest or that we're not interested, but milking the attention in the process.

What all these world-class player links do for the club during the tour, is keep us in the spotlight & sell a shitload of shirts in the US like never before. Chevrolet are probably doing pretty well out of it also.

What has got the conspiracy hat on, is the selling of shares at a time when our profile is through the roof. The risk warning (to potential buyers about possible failures to get Champions League football next season or the season after) put out by the Glazers was surprising too, but maybe not so much if you have a clue about this type of thing - which i dont.

It wasnt very encouraging to hear those elements of doubt thats for sure, given all the bravado of world-class players coming in & "unprecedented levels of spending this summer" to get us back to the top. Instead its - we might not get back to the top this season. Some turnaround!

Interesting few weeks ahead thats for sure, and there'll be some amount of disgruntled fans if big names dont come in as promised.

We're just gonna have to wait & see & hope for the best.. like last summer ;-)

Yep. United should look at loaning Hernandez and Kagawa out with a £1m or so loan fee. It gets their wages off the books for a year and their values won't be any lower than they are at the moment. If they fail, you'll recoup what you would have sold them for now and if they succeed you could significantly increase their prices. United aren't a club that have to sell to buy, so there won't be any real financial implications from not receiving money immediately.

Not long ago they claimed that we're close to signing him?
The one claiming our interest was beIN Arabia, this one is beIN France who the French fans claim to be very reliable so we'll wait and see.

Won't be the worst idea. It got us money for Bebe.

Gazzetta reporting that Milan are showing heavy interest in Ezequiel Lavezzi and will try to pry him away from PSG.

Think Hernandez can do much better than Southampton. Plus I wouldn't like to see him facing us every season, you just know he'd punish us.

They have sold too many players to be an attractive team now, they had a young exciting team but after the sales Southampton are suddenly relegation candidates for me. It would be a bad move for Hernandez he should go to Milan, he will bag 20 goals a season in Serie A.
