Well you didn't say that, that was what I was responding to. Only a 12 year says that regardless of what he's done behind the scenes, our CEO/vice chairman is as good as gone, if he doesn't bring in anyone else this summer. If your post wasn't written like a sun headline, then maybe I wouldn't have offered you the bet in the first place. In future don't post such utter sensationalist drivel, if you don't want such a response. Just saying.

It's an opinion. And you do realise the commercial department is still running successful after Woodward? Woodward isn't invincible. Glazers need us in Europe and if we not there due to transfer activities. Who do you think will take the blame?

If Woodward kept his mouth shut then maybe expectations wouldn't be so high?

Jesus Christ, I was responding to your moronic post saying that he was good as gone if he didn't bring in anyone else this summer. He's not going anywhere, regardless of what we do this summer or next, that's my point.

What a stupid thing to say. Do you really need it breaking down to you as to why he's obviously a worse signing than Dong, Kleberson, Bebe, Djemba and Obertan? Do you not see an obvious common factor there? They were relatively cheap, and we made money off loaning Bebe out. What a moronic thing to compare them without factoring in the fee we paid, he's our fourth most expensive player of all time FFS.

Oh Veron and Anderson have put in performances for us that Fellaini couldn't dream of producing. Watching him against bayern was like watching a donkey, heck a donkey would have displayed better ball control. That image of him running the ball out summed up his signing for me, embarrassing.

Nice, level headed and objective post there, well done

Is it not worth taking into consideration that the players I mentioned all played under a far superior manager, worked with a far superior coaching staff, and especially in the case of Anderson had a far longer length of time to produce these stellar performances that had you swooning?

Yes, the fee was higher than we paid for some of the other 'flops' I mentioned, but fees are generally higher nowadays (especially in the last couple of years!)and if we're honest we could have had him for less had we not been at the mercy of Dithering Dave.

We also bought him as a means to shore up our awful midfield, when he is in fact a number 10, and would certainly have performed better there as we have seen he is capable of with Everton/Belgium.

As for his 'performance' against Bayern, and especially the infamous run out of bounds, all we've heard this pre season is how last year they hardly trained with the ball, and were effectively ran to death every session. How surprising is it that as a result both individually and as a team these kind of mistakes happen.

Was the run any worse than a winger who literally could not cross a ball to save his life? A CM player who couldn't tackle or pass? Strikers who had about as muchg chance of scoring as Mr Magoo without his glasses? It's doubtful.

Yes, he was a shit signing, but he was an injured player played out of position, I'm not sure what anyone expected. Maybe with a season with a decent coach and decent training under his belt he could have succeeded, we'll possibly never know. It's not exactly ridiculous to rate him over some of these other less than illustrious names though IMO.

Again refuses to answer my question.

If we don't make Europe next season due to our transfer activities. Do you think the Glazers won't turn on Woodward? Glazers need us to be in the champions league especially with the new tv deal and if that is down to Ed failing then they won't hesitate turning on him. Especially as not being in Europe will hurt the commercial side too.

Do you just go around being a dick to everyone you don't agree with? I know it's the school holidays, but you need to chill out.

Word of the day toilet paper by any chance? You've called two people that now in as many pages, simply because you disagreed with them.

Do you understand how forums work?

If we fail to make top 4 for two years consecutively, there will be mass firings, possibly starting with LVG.
He called the shots this summer and he had a huge transfer kitty, not to mention this summer there are targets available that would strengthen us immensely.

The only reason he will not deem a top CM/CB necessary would be his ego.

Have to say that this is a boring window so far, the only exception being that mad 24 hours. From the clubs point of view it's good that they are keeping extremely quiet in their dealings, however from a fans it's tedious.

I dont disagree with that - the key part in my statement was "for us". Fellaini was never going to work for Utd. He just isnt suited to our style of play - and seemingly LVG agrees.
True that. Feel bad for him though, genuinely seemed excited when he joined last year.

Thing is, if he goes to Atletico, he'll end up on the bench anyway because they'll play Mandžukić all the time.

If he goes to Southampton, he's only gotta deal with Pelle (who'll probably be shite) and Rodriguez (who probably won't have as good a year without Lambert).

Atletico play with two forwards most of the time don't they?

Great news, the sooner he's gone the better.
Aye great news another midfielder gone:rolleyes: One terrible season and he's an awful player all of a sudden. Sick of the Fellaini bashing in here, offers more than Cleverley. I think if LVG got him fit/confidence back, we would see a different player. Our midfield is poor at the moment we could do without losing more. Carrick is out for a while and we need new recruits as is. People happy contributing to the Fellaini bashing bandwagon were the same people happy he came last Summer. Fickle football fans as the saying goes. Moyes would have made fecking Messi look rubbish last year, clueless. Fellaini deserves another chance imo.

Yes, but they've got those two positions filled now with Mandžukić and Griezmann. Hernández would just be warming the bench again. He'll get off it more often, but it's not exactly an attractive prospect in terms of playing time.

Griezmann is not a forward he plays on the left.

If anything it would be Hernandez and Mandzukic up front with Griezmann and Turan and Koke moved into midfield.

He's not a midfielder, he's a #10 and that's where LvG would play him if he keeps him.

There's no way Griezmann has the work ethic to play in midfield under Simeone in a 4-4-2. On paper he starts on the left, but he's always high up the field and tends to move inside.

Really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, until the World Cup, he was shocking.

I just can't see him fitting into the quick passing style Van Gaal has implemented.

I think that's the exact reason why LvG doesn't really want him.
