If Woodward fecks up two transfer windows then he is as good as gone. Last year we can give him the excuse of Dithering Dave. But he needs to prove he's not all talk.

Fans might turn against Woodward for sure but the work he is doing on commercial deals would mean he's probably untouchable in the eyes of the Glazers.

And he can easily go back to that side of things with someone else in charge of transfers.

He could still work in a commercial aspect, someone could be brought in to work independently on transfers? I genuinely think fan pressure will be too massive for something like this not to occur should Woodward again make a balls of the transfer window.

He won't be sacked or demoted, we will just appoint a director of football

I hate to burst your bubble but being CEO means more than just transfers, but please do tell us more about how he's fecked up this window and how he's "as good as gone" though.

How about this, I bet you that even if we don't sign anyone else this window, Woodward isn't going to get sacked? The loser gets a life time ban. Deal?

There's also a dependency on transfers to fulfill commercial aspects, don't forget. If we fail to make the Champions League again it won't matter how good Woodword is at sealing commercial deals.

Wait so if we fail to make the champions league next season we're majorly fecked commercially?

Liverpool are a walking example that success doesn't have a major effect on the commercial side of things.

We'd need to fail to quality for TWO more seasons to lose some of the adidas money (which would still be higher than anyone else's shirt deals).

You can hardly compare this yeat and last.

This year we have spent £60m on two players that are fantastic additions to the first XI both in positions that were badly needed

Last year we signed Fellaini

Yeah, but has Woodword proven himself on the transfer front yet? I don't think he has.

FWIW I think Spencer is just teasing and trying to provoke a reaction.

Probably seen Agent Edwards Tweet and think it might have some substance. Pretty sure these journos get off on the fact they can pretty much dictate these forums and social media by typing a few words.

His prime goal at the moment is transfers. And when he comes up with comments like we can pay big fees for players and I wanna stop players going to Spain. It raises expectation and means if he doesn't deliver he will get stick.

You think Glazers are going to be happy if their cash cow fails to qualify for the champions league again and it was down to Woodward and his inability to sign players. Like I said he'd most likely be moved on away from transfers. But I think people are overblowing what he does on the commercial side. When it is Richard Arnold, who is in charge of that and was the key player in getting us the Adidas deal.

That is just your opinion and probably not shared by most people. Definitely isn't going to be a fan backlash if we fail to sign more players.

Having said that I want and expect us to make another couple of signings. But the hysteria on here at times is ridiculous.

I'm willing to be patient with Woodword, but do you genuinely think most have felt he has proven himself? He said himself he still has yet to prove himself!

This year we lost a Rio, Evra, Giggs and Vidic. Our only reliable CM for the last 8 years is injured. We have three defenders who are made of glass.

So I'd say we'd need to make signings pretty soon.

Rio & Evra were a liability last season, Giggs hardly ever played. Vidic is a loss.

Yes we need to make signings which I think we will.

Not proven himself but hasn't done anything to warrant getting the sack.

We bought Fellaini to do a job he's not done before, blame lies with Moyes/Eddy. Fellaini is getting unnecessary flak.
I thought he'd do well in the midfield hard man role but I was wrong, he is a bit too clumsy. My favourite moment of his is where he clouted into someone, forget who, for bullying Adnan.
My thoughts exactly. I can't be arsed with what he cost really, the problem is that he does not make our team better. Therefore, he should be sold. Still can't believe that Moyes brough him to play in central midfield. Clueless.

Can't we just keep Woodward doing all the commercial/sponsors and what ever else he does but bring someone in who knows how the transfer market operates.

Has this really descended into "Woodward is incompetent" because a City supporting MEN reporter posted a wind up about Liverpool bidding for Vidal?

I just got this idea- first Woodie says we can afford to pay loads for top players, that we are ready break record transfer fees.
Now nothing is happening.

Maybe Woodie wanted other clubs to rise prices so no business is actually done.
He will say something about value in the market and that.

Clever chap, that man is.

To be fair, it doesn't matter if we are in for him or not, the press would label it at a total failure by Woodward and Utd if Liverpool bought him.
If we ARE in for Vidal, i'd suggest Woodward stop fiddling with his paperclip and get the bid in and stop fecking around.

MEN are really useless these days. Have they actually been reliable in the past? You would think they should be as they are located in Manchester.

Listen, what you said was that he would be gone if he didn't deliver on transfers, now you're saying he'd be moved on from transfers? That's some serious backtracking right there. Maybe your initial post was way off the mark eh? Overly dramatic even? I wish people would stop posting shite or at least stand by what they post.

fecking useless the lot of them.. However, I think David Meek had some good connections (with sir Alex first and foremost) if I can remember correctly.

It more like they are trying to score points off each other rather than reporting facts. Who can wind which teams fans up the most.

Unless you've been living in a cave, he broke our transfer record just six months ago and then paid for Shaw, what is a record for a teenager.

As for the bolded part, holy smokes, red cafe never fails to deliver. That's some illuminati level of shit right there.

I think most football reporters were reliable then as they had to use inside sources and a lot of footwork. Now they are lazy and just trawl through social media.

No, What I should have said one of the two should happen.

And this isn't WWE. Loser leaves forums, when they wrong. What kind of shit is that? I don't agree with your opinion, if one of us is wrong they should leave the forum. Are we 12 again?

I hope I am wrong as that would mean we signed players. But when you say shit like watch this space too then fans are going to get impatient.

Well you didn't say that, that was what I was responding to. Only a 12 year says that regardless of what he's done behind the scenes, our CEO/vice chairman is as good as gone, if he doesn't bring in anyone else this summer. If your post wasn't written like a sun headline, then maybe I wouldn't have offered you the bet in the first place. In future don't post such utter sensationalist drivel, if you don't want such a response. Just saying.
